This news just wrecked me. Like most, I respected and always read what he posted when I saw it. Garry defined "level headed" on this board and he only typed out a post when he knew what he was talking about. Through IMs over the last year I got to be pretty close to him and I knew his health was a major concern. Damn. Well, from a Wildcat to a Husker and a Kansan to a Texan I'm going to miss the hell out of you buddy.

He recently IM'd me to say that he was very sorry that Vito had been banned and we got to talking about the fact that I haven't seen America-first around in a couple of months. From this, he told me that AF had recently undergone a triple bypass op and had the feeling that AF hadn't made it. I have acquired AF's email addy and mailed him but to no avail. RIP Garry, I'll miss you as I miss America-first. Who will I have to argue with now? It seems silly as I live on the other side of the pond and have never met these guys, but they were big players on here and I valued their banter.  Not to derail the thread, but is A-F OK? |

I never met HH in person, but I traded more IMs with him than with anyone else on ARFCOM. He was just a little older than I am, and we held mostly the same views on things. We were often able to "fill in the blanks" for each other on one thing or another. He will be missed.
