I bought a Muhle Rytmo brush last year and it’s been pretty good. Maybe it’s great and I just don’t know what is or isn’t good. Anyway I like the handle and just realized I can change the brush knot with no hassles. I’ll don’t necessarily need a new brush, but I’d like to know what to look for. What is the Tier 1 and what is the almost as good but more affordable options. |

I like Whipped Dog for knots- the high mountain badger is great. Silvertip badger has been the premium badger knot, but some find it too soft. The synthetic brushes are appealing as well, but I haven’t tried one of theirs yet. However, I emailed them a few months back when I was looking for a brush for a birthday gift to a family member, and didn’t receive a response. I ended up ordering a brush from another source. I agree the silver tip is so soft it takes a lot of effort to get a good lather. At least with the soaps I use. |
