The site gave me a nasty little message when I tried to paste an excerpt. While there are many hedge funds that have taken losses shorting meme stocks, this is the first one to actually close from those losses. https://www.ft.com/content/397bdbe9-f257-4ca6-b600-1756804517b6 |

lol at this fucking places understanding of any of this. In the current environment until interest rates rise being a long term equity short will be difficult with or without retards betting against you em masse. Once interest rates are forced up by inflation, it would increase borrowing costs, this allows shorts to be more aggressive. In the short term with inflation growth and income stocks may suffer a lowered price due to a decreased present value of dividends and future free cash flows, so shorts can be a hedge. If you think these guys were anything but a dog and Pony Show or that a $450MM fund is anything special, well good luck to you. |

What's that from?

Quoted: It's cool until they start getting government bailouts and government top cover because they cried to the right Republicans. This plus sweeping investment reform. The Elites only lost at GameStonk because The Poors were allowed to play at the Elites game. It won't be long until the push for all investments to go though a certified broker. No more self-trades or Robinhood(who is in bed with the Hegefunds that lost) |

Yeah, before I got up on my high horse and lectured GD about it's level of intelligence, I'd take a good, hard look at my ability to grammar and/or parse... I'm just sayin'. |

Retail investors, often co-ordinating their actions on online forums such as Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets and in some cases deliberately targeting hedge fund short sellers, drove up the price of stocks such as GameStop and cinema chain AMC Entertainment in January and again in recent weeks. GameStop, for instance, soared from less than $20 at the start of the year to more than $480 at its January peak. If the hedge funds wouldn't have tried to run GME and AMC into the ground with all of those uncovered shorts then they wouldn't be in the state they are in. The hubris of the hedge funds let them make a super risky play and now that their balls are in the vice they are screaming foul. Fuck those guys. I hope all of them go broke. Not just can't keep the doors open, sorry we are declaring bankruptcy broke, but thrown out of your house, car repossessed, wife leaving, living on the street peddling $5 blow jobs broke. |
