I've been thinking about getting a heavy bag for the garage to add some cardio on my days off from weight training. What weight bag is recommended? What about type of gloves? Also, are there any programs to follow as I've never done any bag work. I haven't looked on youtube yet but plan to. Thanks in advance. |

| Learn to wrap your hands. That's all I got. I used 16oz gloves when I had my bag hung. I never really enjoyed it so it's sitting in storage. The speed bag is more fun, but really isn't great cardio. I never really followed a routine. Just flowed for 2-3 minutes, then rest. |

I also have a nice pair of Title that work well. Don’t skimp on good gloves. 16oz. There are some good free round timer apps. I’ve been boxing for about 30 years. If you can take some lessons from a real gym you’ll learn a lot and enjoy it. These are some of my favorite wraps and gloves… this is about $200 worth of stuff at Amazon. I tried that whole cancer thing. It wasn't for me. Good Riddance.

Precision Striking YouTube channel has great workouts, heavy bag and shadowboxing. I found a really good workout format on Tony Jefferies channel, but you need to work up to the volume: 4 rds jump rope 4 rds shadowboxing 8 rds main workout (heavy bag, double end bag, shadowboxing, etc with specific goals) 2 rds power shots 2 rds speed bag |
