I’ve had his The Federation Series on my e-reader for years and never got around to reading it. Finally started it last week and holy crap I’m enjoying it. Some (heck a lot) of the tech is definitely dated, but it was written in the 1950s. Piper also wrote Little Fuzzy, which was reimaged by Scalzi, which I thoroughly enjoyed (Fuzzy Nation). ProTip: Never pick a fight with a tree planter. He swings a hoedad for 9 hours a day, carries 30-40 pounds of seedlings on his back, and has 12-14 friends just like him hiding out on the other side of the junk butt pile. They will fuck your shit up.

Yep. Glad to see you found some Piper stuff, he put out some very interesting things. Also an interesting guy in his personal life. He went away too soon. And March 23, by the way, was Piper's hundred year birthday. Happy Birthday, Beam. |

| I've read 99% of his published stuff, and the only ones I really liked were Space Viking, 4 Day Planet, the Cosmic Computer or something like that. The only ones I really reread are Lone Star Planet and Murder in the Gunroom, which is probably my favorite |
