| I've been on the fence between Recteq Deck Boss and the Silverbac AT. I have no experience with any pellet grill but I had to choose. Both seem solid. What pushed me to get the Grilla was the all terrain cart its on and the double lined body, I live in Michigan where it can get cold. Did I make a solid choice? |
| I can't tell you about either of those but I have had a Chimp for several years and, other the legs folding the wrong way when collapsing them making it a 2 person job to fold for transport, I have been very happy with it. |

did you end up buying one? I don't think there is a wrong answer honestly. These two were the ones I was looking at also when I was buying. I ended up with the Recteq Deck Boss. No regrets at all. Love it so far, been using it a lot. Pellet grills are a cheat code. I thought AT looked super cool and it would be nice to move it around easier. Need to take it slow when moving the Recteq b/c of the small wheels. But I felt the Recteq had been around a little longer and a buddy loved his 700 so that's the direction I went.      |

I did order the Silverbac AT, still waiting on delivery. I live in Michigan and thought it would ship quickly seeing they were out of Holland Michigan, they moved it to Missouri. The AT wheels are cool. I live in the country so there's really no concrete to move it around. The double insulated part also helped decide, in Michigan we can get colder temperatures. I do wish it hit the same 700 temp as the Recteq, but I was thinking I could get a cheap grill for high temps. So your happy with your Recteq, is there something on the Silverbac you like better? |
| Got my Grilla Silverbac today with the all terrain wheels. This thing is a tank. I always hated having to move it because of the wheels, they all should have wheels like this. I still have to put the grill part on top of it but it's a solid grill. So far it's all positive, hopefully when I get to use it I'll have same option. |

I had a grilla silverback with the competition cart. It was built well, performed great in the winter and I liked it. But pellet grills just don’t give me the flavor I want. I sold it and bought a Masterbuilt gravity smoker. I like the food that comes off of it better, but it is nowhere near the build quality of the grilla. |

Not so much the legs and wheels. He wanted to use charcoal, and it was a good fit for him. |

I almost always run a secondary stainless smoke tube in my pellet grill when I am trying to get a really smokey flavor (things like bacon). Even at the lowest temperature setting my Grilla Chimp doesn't create very much smoke after the initial warm up period. |

Sorry for late reply here. The AT wheels were a big draw for me with the Silverbac, as well as the size and overall shape which i think is a great shape for smokers in general. It think they market pretty well also. It was the wheel that almost pushed it over the top for me. But still no regrets with the RT. It's been making good food and I was pretty happy with the sale price at $750. I'm not sure how I'll like the rear vents over time versus the smoke stack. Smoke stack seems like it it might be better out in the rain but I could be wrong (the rear vents are angled in such a way that they wouldn't take water in directly. I know this is an old thread, but most threads in this forum haven’t been touched in a while. I ordered a Grilla Silverback AT a couple of weeks ago and could not be happier with it. The largest thing I’ve cooked with it to now it is a tri tip (first time) with some ears of corn and some jalepeno poppers but I’m looking forward to expanding my repertoire. I’ve always been a burgers, fajitas and ribeyes guy. Trying new foods and recipes is exciting, and it’s an inspiring machine. I was on the fence about a pellet grill. A storm broke a big limb and it landed on my old beloved Weber red top Genesis and screwed up the frame (I plan to fix it). But wanted something different. I have a good pipe pit, but it’s fairly small. I purchased mine during one of their big sales ($650 down from $1100). Grilla has come out with a 2.0 version, but mine is the 1.0). I have had zero issues with the app, but setting it up from the app was impossible. I think their site was having troubles that weekend. I went to the website and set up my account there and then went to the app to finish the setup. The Grillas get good reviews online, and I’d have to agree with them. Just in case anybody is considering one, I thought I’d throw my $.02 in. |

I have a Grilla Chimp I bought just before they came out with the Chimp 2, they had a sale or were blowing the old models out prior to the new releases. I figured for ~$350 I couldn't really go wrong, if it was good then it was good, if it sucked then at least I wasn't out all that much. It's my first pellet grill, I've cooked on pretty much everything else, and it works as advertised. I'm very happy with my purchase. |
