| Looking for a good shave soap. I was previously using Col Conks but they recently changed their formula and it sucks. No longer lathers up good, feels like I dry shaved my face when I'm done. Looking for something similar to their old glycerin formula. |

| I used to really like Tabac. Using a good pre-shave oil makes an immense difference in comfort. Commercial pre-shave oil is expensive as hell, but you can make your own using grape seed oil as the base, then adding whatever fragrance oils you prefer...I used to use sandalwood, eucalyptus, and a couple of other fragrances and end up with about 16 ounces for $30 rather than 2 ounces of commercial for $30-40. |

That stuff always dried my face out and it lost lubricity during the shave. Cheapest good shave.......Williams puck soap, found in every drug store. Nothing much for scent but it shaves well and lathers easily. Best imports.....Cella cream soap, smells like almonds and cherry to me. Proraso if you can handle the scent, doubly so for Tabac Best domestic Cremo and I can find it at most drug stores and supermarkets, It’s what I’ve stuck with for several years. I am pretty much done chasing fancy stuff like Taylor of Old Bond Street and others from England. Mitchell’s Woofat is another pretty good puck soap. My water is so hard it crunches so Cremo works but some others that are very popular don’t jive with the hard water. |
