Had a cr10 back in the day that was a nightmare and I absolutely hated it. Fast forward and I see things have gotten pretty good for pretty cheap. My friend has been printing like mad and is ordering a new U1 And letting two slightly used Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2's. New I think are in the $450 range he is selling his for $350 with an extra mat. Works fine just wants fast multicolor. Im just dipping my toes back in so I think that seems decent enough. What do you guys think? The other consideration was the bambu labs ps2 as a buy once cry once sorta thing. I think the CC2 might be too good of a deal to pass up but maybe im wrong. Mostly plan on printing multicolor figurines to start maybe some self designed tool case organization stuff etc. Not super worried about bed size. |
I think your friend hates you.  Buy the P1S if you're worried about cost, buy the P2S if you're not worried about cost, or go all out and get an H2S or H2D if you really want to invest. I'd not do that unless you KNOW you want to have this as a long term hobby though. Elegoo is a half step up from Creality (manufacturer of Ender). Might work fine. Most likely going to give you issues. There is a reason Bambu is a bit more and yet outsells the Elegoo 10 to 1. |

I just paid $379 for a new CC2 with a coupon, so $350 isn't that much lower. It may not be Bambu-tier, but it is several orders of magnitude better than my Ender 5 Plus. The Ender needs constant tweaking to be usable. The Elegoo doesn't. I like having the Ender's size as an option, but it is a giant PITA to maintain. I don't use the side-mounted spool holders. I print directly from a dryer. |
