Tried searching, all threads were several years old. My 12 Volt compressor finally failed after 12 years of intermittent use. (Reed valve failure- maybe repairable for a spare/ second line unit) Need a GOOD quality 12 volt Air Compressor, Direct clamps to battery, real detachable air hose fittings, capable of long run time for filling TRUCK tires. Tow rigs wear 12 ply tires, and take 110 PSI, play rigs 35x12.50 and need VOLUME. Mostly see VIAIR models mentioned: 400P, 450P. Some are listed as High Volume, others are 100% duty cycle. Then the cheap-O Viair 88, which looks like it'll fill Nissan Altima tires- a few times. What else is out there? Is everything Xhinese? Anything worth a shit for under $400 ? |

I don't see something cheap and 12V that's filling 110 PSI truck tires. And a truck with 110 psi tires typically has air brakes and therefore onboard air no? I just don't see how high volume and high pressure in the same 12V unit is a reasonable ask. This unit at harbor freight is $250 plug it into a generator you already own and I don't see it getting any cheaper than this. Attached File |

NAPA 300LPM Twin Air Compressor Add these QD chucks for ease of use (much better than the screw-on method).  
If you want auto-stop, I’m pretty sure these are all the same base unit (bought one on sale. Lasfit X4. They sure look like the NAPA Twin I’ve had for years). | It's not 12v but the Milwaukee M18 cordless inflator is a really good tool and will fill at least 100psi big truck tires. Super handy as you just dial in the desired pressure and it does it automatically, you can be doing something else while it's pumping. Best tool dollars I've spent in years. |

Folks have wired up their own pressure switches and posted YT videos on how to DIY, but if you want the auto stop feature, you could probably try the one on Amazon for $170. When I was using the NAPA, I just trial and errored the ‘offset’ (pressure gauge reads higher while inflating (eg. When the pump gauge shows 44psi, disconnect/shut off for 33psi etc.). The Lasfit X4 I bought looks to be OOS. Specifically for off-roaders, they DO make a 4-way split so you can connect one inflator to all 4 for simultaneous inflation (and it has a built in bypass when the set pressure is reached. REALLY fast for airing up all 4 tires from 15 psi to 35psi with one of these Twin inflators. All 4 done before someone else has finished one (same size) tire with their Viair. |

I have had no issues with the Harbor Freight 12v inflators I own. That said, I don’t work them very hard. Only used away from the house. At the house, I have larger 120v compressors that do most of the work. Based on this thread, next time I need one, I’ll look really hard at that Napa one listed above. That appears to be a heck of a deal. |

| I have the Dewalt 20v portable tire inflator. It can run off your 20v battery, or off your vehicle 12v.. OR off a 110v outlet (but that cord is not included). I already have a bunch of Dewalt tools and batteries, so it made sense for me. Its not as fast as an air compressor, but its not bad at all. It shuts off automatically once the desired pressure is reached. Also has attachment to use as a blower, to pump up sporting goods, air mattress, etc. |

I just checked my Amazon, I bought the Viare 88p for $66in 2019. I'm not an off roader. I have aired down exactly once, to 15 psi once to get around in some soft sand. Aired up my 33" tires and it took a while but I wasn't in a hurry. Usually it gets put to work airing up family/friends tires, trailer/camper tires, kids bike tires, water inflatables, etc. It gets hot, but for my use case it's about perfect. I wired in a 7pin trailer plug so I just plug it in by my hitch so I don't have to deal with popping the hood. that being said, my buddy races circle track and they use a m18 cordless one. I have one of the generic ones, bolted it under the passenger seat of my Wrangler, hardwired to the battery. Put a short two foot hose on it with a quick disconnect, I just reach under to turn it on/off. I bought a 4 way split mainfold with a valve. Put a nice liquid filled guage on one port, air in on one, air out on the third, and open to atmosphere on the 4th. Quick push on disconnects for the tire stems. I can deflate all 4 tire to exactly what I want and do the same for inflation. It's basically a clone of the Moreflate system I built for 1/2 the price. |
