Gaston needs to turn that deadlift form into a how to pictorial, hang that shit up in the gym. I'm also going to swag a guess and say ol' Gaston has never worked a labor job, judging by the 1/4 curl farmer carry, but hey, that's how all the kids carry a folding table before they are verbally humiliated. EDIT: JFC, that deadlift was so fucking bad I had to come back and check twice. And that was with trap bar, my god man, there should be a disclaimer or at least a parental advisory. |

That is some fine critiquing there. I agree. The majority of 18 year olds could certainly do these standards. I see 150lb 6ft tall, 18 year olds doing this stuff all the time. He definitely needs to cancel his career in emergency services. Originally Posted By Tanren37: Gaston needs to turn that deadlift form into a how to pictorial, hang that shit up in the gym. I think its reasonable performance standards for any male to try to maintain. So they know they are in good shape and strong. Originally Posted By Desolate1: That is some fine critiquing there. Much less perform at the level that dude did in the video. The average male cannot bench-press 135lbs or even do a single pull-up. You'd need to be well trained to bench-press your body weight for just 1 rep. Much less 10 or 20. And well trained to do 10-20 pull-ups. The guy in that video grew up training in his dads home gym. Regardless of his technique on specific lifts. He's stronger and more athletic then 95% of males in America. He doesn't have world class strength or athleticism. But he's well rounded in all regards. I think dudes that are into fitness/gym forget how weak and nonathletic the average person really is. |

My response was with a bit of sarcasm responding to the previous comment. You hit the nail on the head in regards to people who train have no idea how weak the general population really is. No. He wants to show off and is seeking approval, like every kid that age. The older guys around him, that know better, owe it to him to help. His deadlift form is shit, show him the right way and he'll lift even more and won't injure himself. He's wearing out his grip and his arms holding the DB's at the hip trying to move faster. Grip the DB's and let them hang and he won't smoke his arms and his grip before he finishes. |
