We have a friend who hosts this rocking party every 5 years or so. Right before The China virus hit, he had 2 friends that flew their planes low and slow to throw out candy for the kids. The buzz of the props are heard, the kids start running like mad men, adults get another drink and the planes swoop in low. Doors open and out come rolls of toilet paper. Kids are big mad. We’re rolling laughing at them. Next pass out comes the candy and it’s mad max out there. Little did we know the toilet paper would have been worth gold to the right people a few months later! |

That looks fun. The closest I've been to doing that is chucking old crop duster marking flags from the back seat of a Super Cub to make a path for a guy who lost an RC plane in a wheat field to follow. |

Pumpkins and 1lb bags of flour for the win. Depending on the wing and requirement, you can descend at ~3000fpm, or less. My wing has a published glide ratio of 9.5 and a trim system that allows for a variable airfoil geometry. Trims in, you decrease takeoff roll and reduce cruise speed. Trims out and it's the opposite. Cruise is ~25–35 mph, but I've clocked over 50 mph with a tailwind. |
