For those that follow Palantir (Page 5 of 22)

I am eagerly awaiting earnings next week. IMO this will be huge and determine if we keep running or trade flat for a while. P/E is high so they have to beat to prove that they can grow into their multiple. This has been an issue before where management kept saying they couldn’t keep up with demand yet they were only beating EPS estimates by $0.01. This won’t fly this time, they need a solid beat on revenue, EPS and guidance. I’m still bullish long term but I don’t know if I’d be buying more right now if my position weren’t already where I wanted it. Bought a hat so hopefully their merch sales add to the bottom line. Possibly, therefore, I see retracing or flat - with some retracing. Karp was very aggressive days ago on CNBC with L3Harris guy - made me think he was sure of their results but you never know. Moral of the story: I DO NOT expect much from this one. Just in line with forecasts - it's the spirit of the pre-election thang where everything is on standby |

Closed the after hours session over $47. Congratulations boys. Attached File |

Attached File This is unbelievable to watch in real time $50 today is a real possibility. Edit: -Average daily volume breeched in the first 30 minutes of trading. -Dan Ives from Wedbush raised PT to $57 -bought 5 more shares so I can say I was in on the craziness. |

I'm a believer mainly because of the people behind it. If I was an earlier investor and was up 2x or 3x I'd be selling out, but I'm a latecomer. I've traded in/out a couple times for small profits and now am up 30% on a small position. So are we buying, selling, or holding today? |

I’ll be rolling these contracts out and up for years at this point provided between premiums and share price appreciation it makes sense to do so. If it takes a decade to catch up with the stock so be it. Probably sounds like I got myself in quite the pickle but being underwater on covered calls keeps me from acting on impulse and selling on quick runs. |

Emir M, who IMO does the best technical analysis on PLTR, put out this video comparing the different analysts who cover Palantir. Interesting to see him pick apart their valuation methods. ![]() PALANTIR: Battle Of The Bullish Wall Street Analysts! |

$17 in 1 week. That’s nearly my cost basis. This run has been dreamlike. Congratulations all longs. Attached File |

Have some extra cash I’m investing and considering this stock in the mix? Do you palantir bros think a pull back or haircut is incoming? Lots of analysts stating “oversold”/ unsustainable growth expectations etc. The P/E ratio is 291.95. Also 10b5-1 have been picking up in frequency. Yes I would be filing and selling if I was a heavy holding executive, but it’s a warning sign none the less. Also saw retail investment owns around 50% of shares?? Long term I think it’s a good play, but would prefer to sit out the blues period if there is an adjustment inbound, considering I’m late to the party with this stock. Can a technical case be made to purchase now? How much runway do you think they have to climb to next earnings release? Exciting times to be investing across the board in all sorts of markets. Thanks. |
|
@PineRidge I’m not going to tell others what to do with their money, I’ll only say what I’m doing with mine. I’m holding at these prices, not buying or selling. If you read this post from page one the P/E ratio has been brought up several times. It’s expensive and that is basically the only significant bear case. Bulls will tell you that it will grow into its valuation but there lies the problem: as EPS and revenue go up the stock goes up and the same voices still claim it’s overvalued. This cycle has repeated quarter after quarter lately. -As I typed this Palantir surpassed Lockheed Martin in market capitalization. |

@Procat I appreciate the reply. Looks like I missed out on 5% this morning ![]() From what I can see, it appears Palantir is embedding itself into the entire structure/fabric of the national economy. From defense, retail, food service, lots of private tech etc. This bodes well for the long term, essentially becoming part of the pulse of the economy, always in the background. The ceo says they are just beginning to build the company out, and looking at where they are positioned, I think I tend to agree. I’m thinking nibbles at the cookie is the best approach for late comers. Congrats on this pick, what a great call. |

Thanks DCA is probably a safe bet provided you’re in it for the long term. One earnings miss in the near future would probably hurt the stock price short term. In ten years though I suspect most holders won’t care if their cost basis is $20 or $60. |

Edit: whiffed as this was supposed to be in the RKLB thread. One of my logics for buying was the unsustainably of Boeing and ULA. There will come a day, sooner I’m betting, that the “two government contracts” for space launch will not include Boeing. Spacex is somewhat a lock at this point and RKLB is positioning itself for success as #2. |

I used to have to know which exchange to look in back in the day when you got the paper and looked up yesterday's stock prices. Probably too late, but I will consider PLTR tomorrow morning. Might make it in before it hits the Nasdax 100. |

I never paid much attention to it either but I believe the bull case here is that with historically low institutional ownership (that has no doubt improved greatly since S&P inclusion) being included in more indexes will fuel more institutional buying. |
Good video on the subject. Mentions that institutional ownership is up to 53% which leave a lot to go. ![]() BREAKING: Palantir Has A Date With The Nasdaq... |

My father had bought them dirt cheap at 3.75USD (can you imagine) many, many years ago when they needed capital. It has turned into being one of the largest positions (unintended!) I hold in invested capital. I *think* it will go higher, past 100-150USD over the years. It'll DEFINITELY be a conspicuous part of my retirement package in a few years.
