Very curious to see what comes of this. I can't recall what it was but wasn't there some sort of deal between KSA and Israel back during Trump's first term? It wasn't exactly normalizing relations, but it was a solid step in the right direction that none of the other ME countries took. . . . couldn't recall what it was, so maybe it was nothing. |

I’m no expert on the topic but I believe Israel and Saudi Arabia have been close to normalizing relations for a while but Iran always finds a way to derail it via proxies starting trouble. The House of Saud has a delicate arrangement with the Wahhabist clerics, both basically have power at the others will. The royal family could probably sell the people on the idea of peaceful relations with Israel but not at the expense of taking their side against other Muslims in a conflict if that makes sense. |

Makes total sense and couldn't of said it better myself. Will be interesting to see KSA make the same sort of investments in AI they made in their crazy RE projects. Apparently Sam Altman went there several months back to help support a 7 trillion dollar AI initiative (trillion lol) so maybe this is a more broad conversation on the investment |
Fairly recent PLTR video. It's a hit piece, but I learned a few things. Mostly increased my resolve to not sell my shares any time soon - many Palantirians are working in the administration. ![]() I Worked At Palantir: The Tech Company Reshaping Reality |

That video really makes me appreciate what Karp said on a panel in Saudi Arabia today. Couldn’t find his talk by itself but you can see what he said starting at the 57:45 mark in this video:![]() PALANTIR HITS ALL TIME HIGHS, NVIDIA BACK TO $130, TRUMP OPENS UP THE MIDDLE EAST | MARKET CLOSE People brought up in a world without meritocracy and without patriotism will struggle to compete with the best and brightest who truly believe in what they’re doing. Watching that More Perfect Union video is the perfect example of this. People defending broken government institutions (that DOGE has exposed as being full of fraud and waste) against intervention by the private sector and the best argument they can muster is “feelings”. Makes me even more bullish. |

With liberals today, it makes NO sense at all. |

Baker Hughes. edit: I bought PLTR at about $40. I rode it up and down and sold at $90, then bought back in around $82 for fewer shares to take some profit. I wish I'd have kept them...But I'd made a mint doing it. Anyways, I'll sit happy with the 200 shares I have left. |

I am going to ask you (all) this question again, since I think about it often. We KNOW Karp leans democrat. He supported Biden, Harris. is he on the same path as Elon Musk? And in general, how is he compatible with today's liberals, especially considering his repeated statements about the nature of the West? |
|
@Solo_ I don’t feel like Karp is compatible with today’s liberals but I doubt he cares. I’ve heard his thesis before on classical liberalism and while I get it I don’t see it being realistic. Kind of how communism can look good on paper but never works in practice. I dealt with this same stuff with my late father, he was a teacher who probably never voted for anyone that didn’t have a D behind their name on the ballot. He wasn’t into all the globalist, LGBT, BLM, ect stuff and would come off as being nationalist if you talked to him. The disconnect was he still thought of the democrats as the party of JFK and couldn’t wrap his mind around how far left the party had actually shifted. |

The disconnect was he still thought of the democrats as the party of JFK and couldn't wrap his mind around how far left the party had actually shifted. I continuously discussed current leftist ideologies showing him how far left it's all gone, losing any sense of reality. I think that even Karp may be forced to come to terms with today's America, reality of leftism being the deranged side. Karp is a philosopher and now a very rich one, so he may end up living in his fantasy world. I like the guy very much, but I constantly think about the potential conflict between what he says and what he does |
|
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/palantir-ceo-backs-harris-says-221149484.html That link is typical of what I found looking into this. I have Karp's book sitting here, haven't read the whole thing but paging through I don't see anything that aligns with Dem politics. It's plausible Karp walks that line like Trump used to. |

| I really fucked up on getting into Palantir. Was about to drop 40k into it when it briefly got under $70 a little while ago. I got greedy because I wanted it around $65, it never got that low and shot up from around $68. Just can’t justify buying in now at an ATH. |

I got greedy because I wanted it around $65, it never got that low and shot up from around $68. Just can’t justify buying in now at an ATH. I have been in and out of it three times now. (Still in now) When it went up quickly and by a lot I sold it. Bought it back after it settled down. (Some times it's not about just the price settling down as much as crazy the momentum.) This latest round I started buying when it got back down into the low 80's. Every bad day it went down I added a little bit more. All the way down to the 60's. I don't have a large position now but I feel it is a good 5-6% piece of a more diversified portfolio. The last few years with the Mag 7 thing stuff like this was the only game in town. Now I want to broaden out a bit. For example, I bought a bunch of BTU not so long ago back when it was in the $10 area. That has done great since then. You are going to need that stuff for all the AI to work. |

I bought 100-shares at $36 then doubled that when the price doubled. I played in-and-out with separate 500--share over the last year and did ok with that - getting some big ,some small gains but always gains. I've never touched that 200-share core stake. |

One of the same ones told me I was gambling when I went in heavy on Palantir at <$20. A year later he was buying it for all his clients in the $30-40 range and now quotes his performance as why I should let him run my money. |

And in today's world finance feels like gambling (to me) more often than not. I should invest way more than I do - yet I refrain as I panic, systematically. Glad we moved when we did with this one, many years ago... huge luck. But that's what it was - luck. |

Either way, have to look to the future and not the past I suppose |

Palantir / SAP deal This could end up being pretty interesting as SAP has something like 400k customers. |
|
I’m really curious what contractors get brought into the golden dome deal as well. I’m sure all the legacy MIC companies have all the retired generals they employ calling everyone they know. Very curious if there’s any relation / overlap with the hypersonic testing Rocket Lab has been doing for the DOD with their HASTE launches. This very well could end up being like the space race of the 1960s where the amount of new technology that comes out of the programs outweighs the program itself. |

| New York Times puts out an article on Palantir’s government work that reads like a hit piece and the stock pumps 7%+. Guess talking up all their contracts got people excited. |
Amit had Martin Skhreli on for an hour and half the other day. Martin laid out his whole thesis against quantum computing and gave his thoughts on a variety of tech companies. Love him or hate him there a lot of good insight here and the time to watch it is well spent for the tech focused investor. ![]() A Conversation With Martin Skhreli on Quantum, Palantir, Nvidia, Tesla, Robinhood, Bitcoin & More! |

He’s cocky that’s for sure but I feel like most of the hate for him is unfounded. From what I’ve read about the fraud case against him his investors actually made money on the deal. The whole pharma-bro, jacking up the prices of medicine story is BS too. He bought patents for a medicine that was being discontinued due to low interest and kept it in production. Yes he raised the price (to Gov / insurance) to make it worth producing but would give it to people in need for free. At least that’s the story I found when I dug into it. |

@Procat I know it's just stupid drama but "Couch Investor" seems so fucking salty ![]() He had a video yesterday where he called out how stupid the SOFI debate was and how he wasn't invited, and then like a month ago he had a video where he spoke about how bad Jeremy/Financial Education's videos are Also haven't seen him on Finance Junkies in a long time. I think he's been kicked out of the group |

All of it plays into how influencers collaborate to pump each others content. I’m sure behind the scenes there some Game of Thrones level treachery since Amit has truly built a brand and there’s a bunch of people trying to ride on his coattails. The Sofi video with Amit, Tannor, Steve and DDI (Chris) was a shit show, I don’t know why anyone would be hurt that they weren’t a part of it. I like Sofi and still own a bunch but this idea that they’re going to be some great tech company in the future is nonsense. |

Chris/DDI was really the only one who came off like he wasn't unhinged and emotional. Amit is the man, but he used to be heavy into the debate scene when he was younger so he doesn't really argue the points he wants to he just argues to win (which accelerates the shit show) Tannor seems like a good dude but was getting emotional, and Steve argues like an alcoholic 60 year old who's not able to control the volume of his voice. It is funny seeing the post debate where they all are awkwardly attempting to put a good face on things ![]() I don't know how long you've been watching Finance Junkies but even with Amit being on Bloomberg I feel like Jeremy from Financial Education is the one who has really blown up. He went full tech bull when it wasn't popular to do so and now gets the rewards. <------------------ Really like SOFI, own almost 5K shares, but don't expect any sort of PLTR bull run. It's a long term hold for me |

Interesting phenomenon: someone - apparently conservative(?) - is starting to doubt Palantir's intentions. I guess we will see more and more of this.
ETA those claims apparently can be vilified - as it happened within the same thread (in ANY case, there is definitely a sideways movement against Palantir; someone doesn't want them to go higher and/or implement the things they're about to - food for thought)
