@BrowardMason had a great suggestion in regards to people that have been affected by the hurricane that need help with clean up, logisitics,etc post here. Collecting funds would be easy, distributing them to those that need it would be much more difficult in regards to do they need it, how much,etc.. I'll post the link to this in the Florida HTF. |
| My son is in Bradenton and evacuated to Sarasota. Trees are all broken up and some damage to chimney and roof. He lives in an apartment on the first floor in Bradenton...Can't get to it so has no idea if he is flooded out or not. He is ok physically as well thank god |
| I am in the lakeland area, my husband is a 100% disabled veteran, so it's just me for clean up. We have a partial tree down blocking the front door and many large branches down around the house. I don't have a chainsaw, if I could borrow one, I would be very grateful. |

Having been chief photographer and co-author of a book on Hurricane Andrew I can attest we will not have a good grasp on how well SW Florida was devastated fr many days Every day will be a new, we thought it was bad but oh my it is so much worse than we first thought I am in Brevard on the space coast and we were so lucky the way the bands wrapped around Ian they mainly dumped their rain north and west of me so they received 3-4-5 times the rain I never lost power nor had any damage so I am blessed to say the least Inland has many creeks and small rivers that will continue to rise and swallow neighborhoods at levels never seen ever here. This flooding will get worse everyday for some time so the suffering of these people are just beginning unlike SW Florida which was crushed and now they crawl out and begin to start rebuilding. It could be another week for places like the St John river and Wakiva river to stop flooding So far the Melbourne Gun Show is still on this weekend. Priorities LOL |

Well its all over but for the crying here in Punta Gorda. We came out the other side & it was bad but it could have been way worse. I know it is for a lot of folks. The eye went right over the house, it was a surreal moment to walk around outside for about half an hour looking at the damage. 2nd time I've done that. I have shingles missing, some damaged soffit & facia, bent railings, a tree top thru the 2nd floor screen enclosure. The house faired well which I am very grateful for. No idea when we will get power back. No cell service, currently posting from out T-mobile hot spot. Verizon is out totally. Only NBC-2 news casts on the TV. I'm on a borrowed generator as mine needs a new carb. Its only large enough to keep the fridge on. We're on a well so no running water until I can get my generator working. Wife ran out to check on the MIL place, she's right on Shell Creek & just had a new roof installed but the home was built in the '50's. I'm not optimistic that it survived, she has no insurance either. I can't describe the monumental task I have with clean up here. Every tree on my 5 acres is damaged. I'm not equipped to deal with it which has frazzled my last nerve. It will just sit there until such a time I can rent a skid steer & maybe an excavator. Not sure if my homeowners insurance picks up that cost. I'll need a new roof too which is the biggest hit right now. My thoughts go out to everyone near the coast, you all took it right on the chin. |

Everything is holding together so far here in south Volusia county. I have no house or established tree damage. My only damage is to recently planted flowering trees. The retaining pond behind my house has intruded into my back yard. Another 8”-12” of water will bring it into my home. That’s a massive amount of water though, as I am maybe 1/4 mile from mosquito lagoon and there are many other areas that will catch the water before it raises that much. Wind has picked back up after the calm, as well as the rain. The water does seem to be receding though. Things are looking as promising as they can be at this point. I live in a neighborhood surrounded by snowbirds and retired people so my biggest chore will be helping out my older, and less healthy neighbors. I always put up hurricane shutters on six houses. It use to take me one day, now it takes two. My wife has started to scold me for taking on so much, but if anyone around NSB or Edgewater is in need I may be able to find some time. My neighbors understand that once I put them up, I leave the majority of them up until chances of more storms are low. |

I'm in Citrus County (north of Tampa), all good here. Lost power from 1730-1930 yesterday evening, then got it back and have had it ever since. Just heard from my cousins and aunt/uncle that lived about a mile inland from Casperson Beach, they've got some leaks in their roofs but otherwise think they're good. |

Sanford, between Orlando & Daytona . All good, power stayed on. Lots of local flooding, yard full of small stuff. No damage to the house or shop . Got word from my brother in Venice, he lost a shingle or two ( Tile), other than that intact, no power or cell at his house. My yard is draining rapidly. Attached File |
| I have a condo in fort Myers. It is currently being rented so I'm still in Michigan. There's no idea when the electricity will come back on. Does anybody outside of the hurricane area have a generator I could buy rent borrow? I'm pretty sure my renter would be able to drive to your place and pick it up. |

I'm in west orange county area and we're good. Damage was minimal. Spent all night working the storm with my PD in the Lake County area. Damage there was mostly downed trees and the clean up is ongoing. Working tonight as well. Thank you all, ARF family! I'm more worried about the lady in Lakeland; let's get her taken care of. I'm just north of Cape Coral, eye came over the house Cat 4 Sitting here eating BBQ chicken , w genny running Ft Myer Beach & Sanibel got wiped the causeway is breached in 3 places The news at noon said bodies floating in the water on Marco is It BAD Home has minor damage , my neighbors lot the entire lanai No power or water, internet sporadic cell service Later y'all |
