I would hate to be arguing disparity of force after shooting a 14 and 16 year old at a bus stop I walked to. Not saying it wouldn't be right just hard to defend. |

IMO, "Dad" was threatened with physical violence by multiple people and may have been justified in shooting them if they escalated their threatened attack. |

Dad and kid are now targets of the feral teens. Dad should have avoided all that and just drove his kid to school and stayed under the radar. Then if that didn't work, home school him like he is now. You can't confront the ghetto and not have consequences and you can't shoot them and not have consequences even when completely justified. It' a no win situation. the only win situation is to remove your kid and yourself from the situation. |

Yeah, bad "optics" but if the option is the Rittenhouse prosecutor's statement "everybody has to take a beating once in a while", "tried by 12" might be preferable. |

I said his life would be over. He'd get sued in Civil Court, with the lawyers funded by the NAACP (et al), and his house and address would be all over Facebook (along with his place of business/employer/etc), and 2-3 local Black churches would have people out on the street in front of his house every weekend until the Next Outrage. All to, what? Yell at some kids (assholes though they be), or the school bus driver? What did he hope to accomplish? Dude should have done whatever he could through the school Admin (LOL, though), and THEN pulled his kid out to homeschool/transfer (which is what seems to be happening, from the article). Confronting people in the street (especially over a non-life-and-death issue) is seldom wise....and it's twice as dumb when you're armed. |

"While it may not have been how I would have handled it, [he] did not do anything illegal. You are allowed to stand your ground whether the person coming after you is 16 or 24 or 34," Budensiek said. Budensiek also said the father is a security guard and was legally carrying a concealed firearm. "He was wearing a badge. It's my understanding that he was a security guard and was carrying the gun," Budensiek said. He emphasized that the weapon was concealed before the confrontation. Budensiek said the father has since pulled his son out of school and plans to homeschool him. "He just was going to protect himself and his son at all costs," the sheriff said. |

My wife is an elementary teacher and there's kids in her school right now that all the teachers know a couple of those students are in a pipeline to jail because of their shitty parents. I'm sure every school is like this because there's ZERO discipline in public schools nowadays. There's a black 3rd grade girl who is a known menace at her school. Constantly talking back to teachers, in trouble and at the AP's office weekly. Turns out she was adopted and has white liberal parents. I don't have any answers other than bring paddling back. It's a fucking mess. Originally Posted By Fulcrum-5: I didn't say anything about whether he'd be justified (2-on-1, yeah, legally-speaking, he's probably OK....in Florida). I also think the dad should cut his son's balls off so the testosterone wouldn't cause his son to disrespek anyone ever again. He should also take his wife over there to let Laquan and Jamal fuck his wife for disrespeckin them at the bus stop. After he cleans that up, he should give his gun to either of them because there's a good chance they'd need it more than him. |

That seems to be what happened to Dad, from the article. Read the whole article, he wasn't there to confront the teen. He was there to speak to the bus driver and alert them as to what happened. Teen saw the dad pointing at him and immediately jumped off the bus to confront him just as the other teen got there. Budensiek said the father returned to the bus stop that afternoon and spoke with the female bus driver, who told him she would try to address the situation. The next morning, on Friday, the father drove his son to the bus stop. Budensiek said the 14-year-old involved in the previous day's incident was already on the bus when they arrived. As the 16-year-old got on the bus, his father began speaking with the driver again. According to the sheriff, that is when the 14-year-old got off the bus and confronted the father. "Now you have students on the bus that are yelling. You have the 14-year-old boy that came off the bus that's yelling, screaming at the dad," Budensiek said. That sheriff is a goat. Acknowledging what was right, and standing by it. The sheriff said investigators would have sought warrants for the 14-year-old and the other 16-year-old who approached the father if the father had wanted to pursue charges. But he declined. Too bad the father didn't pursue charges. |

If he thought that was gonna end any way but him having to either fight a kid or draw his weapon, he's too dumb or shortsighted to be running around with a weapon on him. I bet he genuinely thought he could talk to the bus driver, have them make sure the kids were separated, and head off the issue. Sounds like it's something that just occurred with no real prior incidents. I bet he truly did not/could not anticipate the "teens" escalating the situation like they did. My middle school was actually in the ghetto, as in surrounded by housing projects. We had a kid in 8th grade shoot a pizza man to death to steal his tip money, crackheads roaming the hallways were regular occurrences, it was a given someone was fucking under the stairwells at any given time throughout the day. Nothing really shocks me. However, as a parent with young kids in elementary school, I am finding my...outlook, shall we say, is not shared by the majority of parents. I can show you all of the first graders who will grow up to be major problems and the other parents look at me like I'm insane. Personally, I doubt this family will have any more problems. Had the dad cowered and not stood his ground, yes. But he displayed the willingness to take things further. Probably only thing he could have done better was send his kid to school with a brick the next day and have him bash the 14 year olds face in. That would get their attention. The thing to remember is most of these "teens" are cowards, if you escalate immediately without mercy they will typically back down and ironically respect you more. |

Get your kid away from the situation don't Insert yourself into it. Based on the wording of the story. He was intending to speak to the bus driver about it. The 14yo being on the bus at the time understood the context enough to know it was about his behavior. I think it's important to realize these situations are very much an adult trying to adopt normal adult behaviors. Not understanding the teens they are dealing with are already established career criminals. The only way these people will change is if their behavior comes with heavy life changing consequences. Like if in a similar situation one of the teens lost their life. Forcing the others to weigh the potential of them coming next in the next altercation. So, we as adults have a choice to make. Whether or not we want to be start of those life changing consequences. Sane people will likely vote no. Better to let these types learn the hard knocks amongst the monsters they desire to become. |
