The two teens are now trying to play the victim card and the NAACP is involved. Sheriff John Budensiek said detectives spent the entire day Friday investigating the incident, interviewing students who were on the bus and the people involved. He said the investigation found the father had gone to the bus stop after his 16-year-old son reported being bullied by a 14-year-old student on the bus the day before. The next morning, on Friday, the father drove his son to the bus stop. Budensiek said the 14-year-old involved in the previous day's incident was already on the bus when they arrived. As the 16-year-old got on the bus, his father began speaking with the driver again. According to the sheriff, that is when the 14-year-old got off the bus and confronted the father. "Now you have students on the bus that are yelling. You have the 14-year-old boy that came off the bus that's yelling, screaming at the dad," Budensiek said. Budensiek said other students on the bus then called another teenager to come to the scene. There were actually two 16-year-olds involved, according to the sheriff: the father's son, whom he described as the victim, and another 16-year-old who was already suspended from school and was not on the bus that morning. That second 16-year-old came to the bus stop after being summoned by students on the bus, Budensiek said. "So now you have two young men who look like grown men that are happening upon the dad, going at the dad and yelling at the dad," Budensiek said. The sheriff said the father initially held his hand up and repeatedly told the teenagers to stay back. "They got all the way up on him before he pulled out a concealed weapon and told them to get back, which he's legally allowed to do," Budensiek said. He said both teenagers backed away, the father put the gun away and the confrontation ended. |

There should be a school bus policy that once a child ….a “child” …gets off the bus, the bus driver is supposed to close the door and drive off. |

It goes another way, and Dad gets his skull caved in by Usual Suspect #1 or #2 (or, stereotypically, both together in a team-building exercise)....I'm sure his kid will remember him fondly and not wish at all that Dad had stayed away from the Bus that day. |
