Last winter I ordered a new lathe and love the heck out if it. This summer I'm buying a mill. And this one is available: Attached File I work with the guy. He upgraded to a CNC machine and offered me first crack at it. It's a Bridgeport with some power feeds. Comes with all R8 tooling and quick change. My question is though, due to my shop layout, I have to put this baby back up against a wall. That and I have one shot at free moving and placement, beyond that it's going to grow roots where it lands. How much room behind the unit do I need to leave? I've got plenty of side to side and overhead it's just that I have to keep it tight to the wall for shop space. Thoughts? |

Don't know about anything else tho I've got a Cincinnati Toolmaster, and the VFD that replaced the old switch-gear mounts in the base. I can squeeze myself back there but haven't needed to in 5+ years. If you need to hang stuff off the long ends of your table then you'll want a different position, but I'm not working with long shafting so it hasn't been a factor. |
