A buddy of mine haas been talking for a few months about a cigar bar he visited last year. Last night I met him and another buddy at the place, somewhat local to all of us. I had my first cigar since Father's Day '05, an Ashton ESG and a Lagavulin Scotch of some kind. (I wanted Lagavulin 16 but they were temporarily out of that, so I'm not sure what I actually ended up with.). Cigar was great as was the Scotch. A good time was had by all and we plan to make it an every other month event. My wife has zero interest in it so you guys get to hear about it. |

Back when I was smoking cigars fairly regularly, this was my favorite pairing. I would splurge every now and then and get the Portwood 21, but IIRC it was only around $85 a fifth and not the $200+ it is now. |
