I guess I live under a rock, as I just learned this last night, and am shocked I didn't learn of it sooner as I've had my D600 for some time now.. (eta: my D7100 can do it as well! the 2nd link has a list of compatible models) back track.. when I bought my Fuji X-T10, just to dip my toes into the mirrorless camera realm, one of the selling points for me, was that I could emulate various film types, in camera. I love that camera, and my experience with it is driving my quest for something more up to date (moar pixels and IBIS) I wanted to know if I could do the emulation thing with my prospect z7ii. Not only will the newer z cameras do it, but several of the higher-ish D models. so I'm going to play around with them, and see whats what. For free you could download PhotoScape. It's an editor that comes with film emulators (filters) for Velvia, Provia, Portra, Agfa. And swing by a flea market this summer and pick up a Nikon film camera. Shoot me an IM and I'll send you a couple rolls of film. No faking required. |

Ah, excellent! I have a couple F2, and a couple F5. And I can see how the F5 is your favorite. Like shooting fish in a barrel. One of the F2 was a charity shop find and is enroute back from service. Apparently, the tech was able to get the meter working in the head. Mechanical work of art, the F2. I would never have been able to afford one back in the day. Or an F5. Stumbled across a yard sale last summer. Saw a film dryer out in the sellers driveway. I bought it. I asked the lady, "...you have any cameras or film...?" She walks me over to a freezer that is packed with film. Fiddy bucks. 320 rolls. 99.5% C41. Husband passed. Cameras were all donated and gone. But a lifetime of film to keep me shootin' Cheers!
