It is well past time that the Supreme Court revisits the Eight Amendment death penalty standards cases. The current "aggravating circumstances" nonsense has nothing to do with what the Founders wrote and ratified, and they would not even recognize current case law on the subject. In 1791, when the Eight Amendment was adopted, capital punishment was for all murder, and also applied to rape, sodomy (yep), burglary, some theft offenses (horse thieving, does this sound familiar to anybody?), and more. All three of them should have been executed back in the last century. |

How the fuck do people on death row get to make demands, let alone publicize them? I would be willing to have her hang but there's no drop to break the neck, just suffocation. Wood chipper feet first is always a good one, drawn and quartered (although it gets messy), the C130 drop in the Ocean is good but you'd need a cage of about 20 to cover fuel costs and anything goes on the ride out, or throw her in general population with no penalty to those who harm her. |
