I'm trying to figure this out, however, I'm confusing by the "Turn Diameter" field in Turning-Facing and why it's with the tool settings?

It's my understanding that this is supposed to be the material diameter for turning while it's the tool (ie end mill) diameter for milling.  Am I mistaken?

If I'm correct then why does FSWizard make me create a new tool every time I change this field when all I'm wanting to do is change the diameter of my material?

It's driving me kinda crazy.

ETA: I'm also wondering how to go about adjusting (which settings first) to suit my 1HP 12"x36" lathe since it appears to be geared towards much higher HP machines?

It changes the max RPM to keep the SFM correct for the largest diameter. Then it sets the feed per minute based on that RPM.

Chip load/feed per tooth stays the same. The same way you set the feed on your lathe.

You'll quickly find those three RPMs that you'll use for most everything so you don't have to change it.

Not seeing a way on the phone app to set the machine up but the desktop version had this last time I used it.
