Some years ago I encountered a door keypad whose numbers would change every time a key was depressed. So when you pressed, say, the upper-left number (usually a 1) the LED display behind all keys would randomly change. This was in a VERY secure area of a building which was being closed; it had been used for very high-level TS operations. Each key on the keypad had a Nixie-style display so it could display all numbers. This was done so that the unlock code couldn't be deduced by the amount of wear on the key. What's the name of such a lock, and is it still available? Found it. eta Found one! Genie door lock. This one probably isn't DoW approved though. |
