I found out I liked playing with my dad more than I liked the game so once I had a family of my own I stopped.
My dad was a scratch golfer and I played with him alot in my teens. My first real clubs (crazy huge leather bag and nice clubs) was prize he won at Chi-chi Rodriguez's home course in PR.
Playing with him was an education every time and almost always a good time.
RIP Boats
Besides playing with him golf was fun in HS.
I was on HS football/wrestling/Golf so I liked to apply the physical/mental aspect of those to my opponents on the course.
My coach was similar to the Bad News Bears coach, an alcoholic who was tired of losing year after year so he fostered my pushing the other teams button. Partner me up with their best stick and let's play.
My all time favorite coach.
