For years my process was to open Google Chrome, open yahoo, click finance, wait for it to load etc then scroll to recently viewed stocks I had entered.

A few of my younger coworkers were talking about API's and data pulls into Excel.

Unbeknownst to me, you can create your own tracker in Excel, stupidly easy as I'm actually a luddite.

In our Spending Plan/Net Worth sheet, I just created a new tab so each morning or throughout the day, I can click the tab and hit refresh. it will show me positions change and various variables of choosing. Now it takes me about 6 seconds and I'm good. Moving on to the next task.

The Ticker column is easy to use and basically it had nearly every stock, Mutual Fund and ETF available.

Highly recommend it as it's easy and another tool in the tool belt of seeing perspectives of various Bridge accounts or you could do the same in retirement accounts. Pretty slick in my simpleton's opinion. Easy to set up for accounts and focus only on what is owned versus get bogged down in speculation.

Anyone doing something similar or additional details they are using or other?

I saw Seeking Alpha contributor Steven Fiorillo using this feature on a livestream recently and thought it was pretty neat. He did complain that for purposes of tracking it wasn’t equipped to adjust for stock splits yet so keep that in mind.
