I’m bored and this place is dead. I always forget that the weather is shit in other places ![]() The Ping Blueprints were good but not perfect. They spun a bit too much for me, so I sold them for what I paid. I’ve been wanting to try Srixon for a while, and can confidently say I found my irons for 2026. So here we go… Ping G440 LST Driver 9.0° set to 8.0°. Ventus Black 6-X tipped 0.75” and playing 45.25” Attached File Attached File Taylormade Qi35 core 3 wood 15.0° set to 14.25°. Ventus Black 8-X tipped 0.5” and playing 42.75” Attached File Attached File Titleist U505 2 Iron @ 18°. Graphite Design DI Hybrid 95-X Attached File |

Srixon ZXi5 4 iron @ 21.5°. Graphite Design DI Hybrid 105-X Attached File Attached File Srixon ZXi7 5-9 Irons (25, 29, 33, 37, 41.5°). Project X Rifle 6.5 Attached File Attached File Srixon Z-Forged II PW @ 46°. Project X Rifle 6.5 Attached File |

Vokey SM10 Raw Wedges. 50-08F @ 50.5°, 56-14F @ 55°, 60-08M. Nippon Modus 125-X Attached File Attached File Taylormade Spider Tour X Milled Proto Attached File Attached File Tour Velvet Full Cord grips (+2.5 wraps) and Pro V1. I play the Left Dash Pro V1X sometimes depending on conditions. Attached File |
Looking at the back of those wedges, I'm a little scared to ask what the face looks like. ![]() Nice bag. I was looking at the Srixson's a few days ago, really like the narrow sole on the i7's. EDIT: I see you bent everything a little to suit. |

To contrast our local + handicap ringer, a mid handi WITB: Attached File Titleist GT3, 10*, Fujikura Vista - although I have slow swing speed and easy tempo, I find the middle (sometimes) and hit up enough to need low spin driver. Callaway Ai Smoke 3.5w, turned down to 15.5*, Vista shaft. Callaway Ai Smoke 4h, 21*, Vista. Mizuno JPX 923 Pro, 4i-Pw, Mitsubishi MMT. Should a mid handi be packing a 19* 4 iron? Absolutely fucking not (and depending on the day, I'll pull the 4 iron, turn the 4h to 23* and put in a 5 wood......). Cleveland RTX6, 50 (10*, mid), 54 (12*, full), 58 (6* low). Ping Scottsdale Prime Tyne C Probably won't change anything for '26. But, eventually a real wedge fitting to find some suitable grinds, likely a blended iron set 4/5-9i and match Pw to the wedges because I like to use it around the green. |

I like the raw wedges because there’s no glare and I can do custom sole grinds without going through the finish. Plus I just think they look cool. ![]() Attached File |

| Only change for me in 2026 was a 180 gram graphite rebar shaft in the Sik pro-c head, and I replaced the g440 7 wood and g430 3 wood stock shafts for the same shaft (identical brand/weight/flex) in my driver. The 3 wood shaft was tipped 1/2 inch and 7 wood 1 1/4. Still needed to add a few grams to the butts to hit D2 but so far so good after a few rounds. Easy enough to swap back if they misbehave lol |

The only change to my bag this year is a new driver. Titleist GT2 9* with Ventus Black Velocore+ 5x Callaway Apex UW 17* with Ventus TR red 80S Srixon ZX Utility 3i 20* with Recoil 85 S 4i-PW Srixon ZXi7 with KBS $Taper 120g S Cleveland RTZ 50/54/58 with same shafts as my irons Bettinardi Studio Stock BB28 that I've had for about 5 years. I may end up putting the Blue Velocore+ 6S in that driver if the lighter Black 5x doesn't suit me long term. The honeymoon is fun so far, though. |

I saw some idiot on youtube a few days back take a grinder to a set of new Srixon irons with the v-soles. Ground the v-sole off smooth. That is like their key feature. Then I saw his swing. The $1500 on the set of irons would have been better spent on golf lessons. |

It was by far my favorite club ever. |

I got a new driver. It’s definitely faster than the Ping. Attached File Attached File |

| I picked up the Callaway Quantum Max last night. I've been going back and forth on the Qi4D and Quantum for about two weeks. Managed to swing both (and an OPTM X) 4-5 times over the last few weeks and found the Quantum to be the most consistent for my swing. Went with the Denali Frost 60g in 6.5/x-stiff. The Ventus Black didn't fit my preferred shot type. I'll probably have to get out of the Denali at some point as I hit it too high - about 100' high from a 9-degree head. |

What’s your club speed and what kind of spin are you getting with the Quantum max? |
| I was swinging 111.6 with the Denali in last night. I get a shit-ton of spin on everything I hit because of my impact angle. With my Ping I was around 2800rpm. With the Quantum Max, just under 2300rpm. I was around 2000rpm with the Quantum Triple Diamond and the Fuji Ventus Black, but my shot shape sucked. |

Nice. 2300 rpm is a good place to be, especially a max head. If you like the feel of the Denali I’d probably mess with lofting down the head before looking at different shafts. |
|
I'm not much of a max head guy - I would prefer the triple diamond non-max head, but I was getting about 2Mph more ball speed out of the max on my high-efficiency strikes. I lofted the head down to 8 degrees and still had a couple of balls over 90'. I really just need to fix my attack angle and stop hitting down on the ball so much with the driver. |
|
I added the Quantum Max 3-wood to the bag Saturday. Hoping to get both on the course this Friday. Attached File |
|
I might pick up some GT woods on sale now that the GTS series is out. I'm playing a 818H1 5 hybrid and a Callaway Paradym 3W high loft (4W) I won at a scramble. The only wood I'm fit for is my driver so I figure if I were to go with the same shaft as my driver in the hybrid and wood, that might be a good setup. Or it might just be worth getting fit for my 2 other woods to take the guess work out. |
Please remember to tell your kids and grandchildren about the cool Bro know as @fastblueR6!!

That's a good number. If my AoA starts getting negative I'll get those huge floaters that are high 3000s-4000 spin and lose 30-40 yards carry. 2200-2300 is my sweet spot when I'm hitting up on the ball and swinging well 108-110mph clubhead speed. |

My spin was well over 3000 with my previous Ping G430 9 degree and the factory Alta CB stiff shaft. I only carried about 245-250 (on average) with it... which sucked as I hit my 3 iron 240 with ease. I've been working on AoA to get the carry number up. I was carrying 270-ish on the trackman with the Quantum and the Denali x-stiff. Interested to see where things go when I put the Diamana BB into the Quantum. |

I even went back last year to fit driver again and told the dude, "fit what works, I don't care." Ended up with a GT3 head on the same Vista shaft...... |

Yeah my driver was struggling a bit after I took some time off for our kiddo but now I'm starting to get my driver numbers back up where they were when I was fit for it and its been really nice. I was bugging claude about it and it said to try a Ventus 7x in Blue and Red in my 3W to see what I like tempo wise with a club you don't just always hit up on like a driver. Currently my 3W has the stock shaft in a Stiff flex and its lighter than my driver shaft so its backwards from where it probably should be. |
