Bungie is finally calling it and pulling the life support plug. I’m amazed Sony isn’t using the ass blaster 3000 on the execs since Bungie has made them adjust a 700 million loss on estimated revenue after buying Bungie. They had a good run with D2; way longer than I expected. The amount of shade being thrown around the internet about this final update is ridiculous. Especially all the hate going towards the Marathon community. Marathon is a really great game. |

They should have ended it with the Final Shape. Even by then it had turned into a big FOMO circle jerk. I played from beta until Edge of Fate. I wasn't going to go through another gear and content sunset just to fucking farm the same shit over and over to grind for what I already had. I can't honestly say anything bad about Marathon. I don't like extraction shooters. I liked the Dark Zones in the Division, but that wasn't the main part of the game. What I CAN say is I'm never giving Bungie any more money. I also have a list of their people that if I see on any future titles, I won't buy them. ETA: I made a few really good friends from Arfcom playing the game. Those guys are fuggin GOLD. |

I'm actually relieved it's over. I haven't logged in since March of last year. I reinstalled it and played a little over this past weekend and all the stuff that makes Destiny amazing is still there and locked in tight. I think I just finally got tired of the grind, constantly chasing the carrot season after season. I'm looking forward to playing a little now that soon there will be no chase. Just a backlog of things to work on. Destiny was supposed to be on a ten year plan, and I thought that was a little optimistic. It's been a good run. But all good things must come to an end. |
