@wpsharpshooter That’s the same plaid as the original seats. They are getting redone. It’s a wrap. I saw it on another build and liked it. I passed on this turbo Suburban for 22k back around 2019.  The Family haul-asser A turbocharged C10 suburban that doesn't make sense, but you have to own! |

Great thread! Here are my two projects   The 86 CJ7 is undergoing a 5.9L Magnum heart transplant and refresh while the 82 Fiat X-1/9 is a full on resto-mod. European spec turbo engine and complete restoration from the ground up. |

Starting the fuel system work next week on an older restoration 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. Bought it for the wife, thinking about a transmission swap to an auto but keeping the flathead. It runs ok now but the dual Strombergs eat gas. Attached File Attached File |

Update on the Corvette. When it rolled across the auction block, it had maybe a half mile on it. Owner insisted it go, no time to work the bugs out. Well Sunday they took it to a car show. Afterwards they were driving some back roads around Mt. Pleasant to put some miles on it. Driving nice and slow, about 25-30 MPH. The rearend completely locked up! Got it back to the shop and drained the lube and it was bass boat silver metallic. Now here’s the good part. They called the rearend builder when they were installing it to complain about how tight it was. Almost couldn’t turn it by hand. “Oh, that’s normal. It just needs to be run.” Can’t wait to hear how this second conversation went. They got 6 miles out of it. My son reminded the owner that this is why you don’t pull a car off the rack and take it to the auction. |

About 98% done bringing my 94 K1500 back up to snuff. A few interior items I still need to source or look at having 3D printed. Otherwise all stock, original engine/trans. Got some shorty headers and borla pro xs to give it a slightly deeper and above stock tone. Attached File |

Gonna need axles It came with three spare complete engines and two transmissions. Now the 28 Chevy project is a different story. It may get the spare Impala engine (348 tri power) with a lot of drivetrain and brake/suspension upgrades.  |

Doesn't look like much but we put a whole carbon fiber body kit on this. About 80 hours of fiber and carbon work to make the Chinese bullshit fit . 10k dollar kit and still fit like crap. Painted the whole car leaving some bits carbon fiber clear coated over to look fancy. Badass car though   |

Just sprayed this PPG flat. Doing it for a friend. I would have chosen a much more obnoxious color.  Everything has been fitted, AC, fenders/gaps, power windows, wipers, etc. Blown out for paint, now things that get bolted on, stay on. LS3/4L85E GM connect and cruise package, TCI rolling chassis, Wilwood brakes.

Anyone watch any of the Mecum auction in Indy yesterday? Seems that there’s no money being spent. Lots of no sales, didn’t make reserve. Car my son built hit $350k at a very small auction in NC a couple months back. Owner did not sell figuring it would bring a lot more at Mecum. Very disappointing, highest bid was $150k. Needless to say it came home. All original Chevelles were bringing more money than a numbers matching ‘63 split window coupe. High bids on some Shelby’s looked like numbers from 10 years back. They’re afraid of getting it up to speed and getting rock chips with the highly detailed bottom. He’s busy wrapping up the ‘63 split window as well hoping to make it to the Indy Mecum auction. I acquired an engine from the Netherlands. It the same block as the US spec motor, but turbo charged. With minor tweaking it'll put out 200hp. Not too bad for a 2k lb car. Has full Koni coil overs, professional built race transaxle. Magnesium CD30 wheels. It's marginally more put together than the pic I posted, but really need to get it all together.
