The golf course food thread reminded me that I do like to eat a thing or two while playing and also that I hate crows on the course because they are friggin thieves! I've had bananas and sandwiches and power bars and who knows what else stolen. Right off the cart. Doesn't matter how deep I have stuffed food up under the dash, those bastards know where it is and, while I'm on the green, they're inside the wire stealing my stuff. Anybody else have this happen or is it a northern New England thing? Title edit to reflect actual topic - on the golf course

The crows around here are pretty skittish I have been feeding them for three or four winters and they are still very wary of me I don't have a golf cart but I can't imagine them getting close enough to steal from my truck or tractor. |
Crows around here are hard core. Used to have them raid baby birds from other nests, kill them, and then leave them in my bird bath. One day I introduced the blow gun to them. Then they were amazed and left for good.  Also have had them screw with me over big loaves of fresh bread in the pick up with the other groceries. Bold, smart, and determined to raid they are..

The only hyphenated names I like are cartridge names......30-06, 30-40, 38-55 etc.

Haven't had any issues with crows. People's pet ducks coming up to beg happens somewhat frequently, though. Attached File Attached File |

I go on a couple guys golf trips every year. I don't remember where we were but it was a nice course and I kept noticing trash around the trash cans at most of the tee boxes. I'd pick up the wrappers, etc and just could not believe how lazy these golfers were to just throw their trash near the can instead of in it. Well, we caught the group in front and had to wait to tee off. I picked up a few pieces of trash, we waited a bit then teed off. Walking back to the cart I see a couple squirrels and crows scattering from in and around the trash can. They were the culprits! Laughed my ass off. |

I sent a ball between the legs of a deer a few weeks ago. Terrible tee shot with a six iron on a par 3. I hear my son gasp as soon as I hit and look up to see a yearling hauling ass across the fairway and my ball was flying straight at him.
