I am reading/listening to the complete Jack Ryan series of Clancy books recently I am about 45 -55% thru them. I find it VERY Very jaw dropping how much stuff Clancy covered in his books and we have seen this stuff come to life Not perfectly but darn close to how it was in the book. Its giving me nervous shivers at times its so damn close to what's actually happened. |

You’re more than 45-55% through them because they fall off hard soon. I’ve read all of them and continued into the ones that were written after his death. I think Code of Honor was the last I read but I honestly don’t remember the plot of any of them past Teeth of the Tiger. |

| Obviously enjoyed them (real Clancy books not the ghostwritten ones), but the world building dropped off a lot in the later books. There were all these big events and the world would be reset at the start of the next book. |

Instantly hooked. Then I found a brand new copy of Red Storm Rising at my library bookstore for $.75. I thought to myself, yeah, this is a sign. A few more library trips and estate sales later, I've collected all of his books which don't feature a co-author. So far, I've read: Hunt for Red October Red Storm Rising Patriot Games The Cardinal of the Kremlin (just finished) Clear and Present Danger Without Remorse Sum of All Fears (just started) |

Rainbow Six is definitely one of my favorites. Some of the topics are dated, given that it's from mid 90s. Especially the IRA/ULA stuff. But the story is so good. You can tell that it (and Executive Orders) are both Clancy giving his opinion on the poor state of American government and justice. The steps taken in the end are very easy to agree with (you'll see). Did you read Debt of Honor? That might be my favorite Clancy ever. It's all Clark and Chavez, one of the finest teams ever assembled. |

I've read @ 90% of the books written in his name. All that were written by TC himself. Was able to talk to the man briefly at and after several of his book signings in NL. CT. Have re-read most several times. Red Storm Rising and SSN are my favorite signed hardcovers |
