I retired recently and can see the value in a watch that has the day in addition to the date. I am looking for a field style watch and don't like how large watches have gotten. It needs to be less than 40mm. The Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Weekender Garrison, Black Stainless Steel Watch looks pretty good. I would like a black case rather then natural stainless. Anyone have experience with how the case wears? Does the black resist wear? |

“It depends” - I have one that is about 10 years old. The finish wear is pretty grim on the inside of the bracelet where my wrist rests on my desk while at the computer. The wear on the actual time piece is near zero. I will say mine has been a great watch thus far. -shooter |
I have this one https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/product/CA0687-58E.html because I also did not want the bright stainless look. I've had it for 7 years and it's been great. No noticeable wear on the finish outside some minor scratches on a couple links. |

I ended up getting one with a stainless case and black face. I initially didn't like the band as the adjustments are rather coarse but once it was somewhat broken in there was one hole that was just right.
