What are some of your favorite cigars? I usually lean towards placencia, arturo fuente, and a good ol’ padron never lets me down |

I don't smoke a lot, maybe 5-6 a month. I've tried many different brands, but for the infrequent times I smoke, I'm not willing to experiment and end up with something inferior. I don't smoke alone, only with friends or my son. If that makes me a snob, so be it. Ashton VSG Spellbound is my regular smoke. Padron '26 and '64 are alternates or for special occasions. I've got Padrons and Fuente that have been aging in my humidor for decades. They'll come out for REALLY special occasions. Ashton ESG is also a nice change. Had a Fuente Forbidden on 1/20 to celebrate the Inauguration. Wasn't impressed for the price ($40). |

Really too many to name, i smoke between 1 & 5 or 6 a week. I try to age a lot of my stuff for at least a year. Tabernacle both broad leaf & cuban seed Aksum MB3 robusto or lonsdale 601 nuke & the warhead lancero Don Pepin Garcia blue foot in the generoso vitola. Padrons 63,26,5000 LFD. La Nox. Chisel head. Double ligero Carillo. 15th anni, el senador & la historia AF. Don Carlos, rare pinks seri B. Anj 60 & 40 Trinidad series 2 lancero Perdomo 20 & 30 year CAO flathead 660 Nub’s when time is short. |

There are so many good cigars these days compared to when I first got into them. It depends what flavor profile you like, of course, but some of my favorites have been, in no particular order: Tabernacle (red - habano seed) Dunbarton Umbagog Tatuaje (almost any) Illusione (original - haven't tried the other lines) Ashton VSG AVO Heritage (can be gotten quite cheaply on cigarbid) Fuente Sungrown Fuente Anejo (at retail, not obscene markups) Opus X (at retail, not obscene markups) Don Pepin Garcia blue or black label Drew Estate Undercrown Maduro Espinoza Laranja Fabrica 5 Puro Desnudo Canonazo I just got back into it so have a bunch of new stuff resting to try out. As mentioned above, they really do improve with a little rest, especially if ordering online. I shoot for a one month minimum, and almost every time I try one sooner I am disappointed. |

Dun Barton Sin Compremmiso Padron 26, 64, 50th Hammer... and the "thousand series" aren't bad Tabernacle Black (broadleaf) - Red (Habana Seed) sucks ass Liga H99, 9, T52 Foundation Olmec Ilussione MJ12 - the original Diesel Vintage (Maduro) for a surprisingly good cheap stick EP Carillo La Historia Plasencia Alma Fuerte is really nice Not a huge fan of Davidoff in general, although a Nicaragua and the Escurio are quite good. The new Maduro is fucking sublime. Ashton, I'll smoke it if it's given to me, but otherwise no. Was a huge fan of Arturo Fuente back in the 1990's but disappointed in recent years. I tend towards Maduro, but not exclusively. My go-tos are Liga Privada 9, Undercrown Maduro, Oliva Melanio, Ashton VSG, and if I want a short one, a Fuente Hemingway (Short Story, Work of Art). Sometimes a Padron 1964 or a 1926 if I’m feeling really spendy. Recently got some Montecristo 1935 that were pretty good. ETA: hate it when Active Topics hits me with a zombie thread. Especially one I already posted in. |
