| One my favorite countries. Love that monastery. Wife and I got blessed by the Priest there. There is a place in Sofia where you go down stairs for the subway and walk across plexiglass. About 20 feet below you is a Roman building. You can take a bus or train to a Roman amphitheatre and watch a concert. |

Food has been great! So I thought I’d share some. Prices are nice too. Nothing has been more that $20 so far. I’m bad about taking pics before I dig in so forgive me. Roasted peppers, onions, eggplant, garlic, and olive oil. Attached File Crispy fried potato seasoned with dill. I liked it so much I plan to make it myself when home. Attached File Bulgarian salad. Attached File Some type of creamed caviar with rice puff along with guacamole. Not spicey but it was fresh and well done. Attached File Veal shank on pistachio mashed potatoes in a reduction sauce. | Thanks for the thread, very interesting. After a trip to Prague, it has been a goal to go further into the region that is less touristy and have looked into Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary but have not pulled the trigger yet. This is ramping up the interest to go.... |
