Never heard of these brands before but they are popping up in my recommendations. What can you tell me about them? |
Both have a pretty solid reputation. I don’t own any Carinas but have a couple Midos and really like them.

Both brands are part of Swatch / Omega, etc. Mido and Certina are placed somewhere around Hamilton in their hierarchy but below Longines and Omega. They’re historically marketed mainly outside the USA but are supported here. Both have access to good movements via ETA being ‘in-house’ with Swatch Group. I have a couple of both and have no complaints, Certina has some amazing divers in their history. Mido historically has been a bit dressier, but makes some solid sports watches as well. Generally, they both offer really good value. |
Big Certina fan here, I think this might be the best sub $1000 diver on the market.
