| Regardless of company policy…what is the ruling in having you EDC in your truck? Not really finding much info. My permit is good from Florida. It’s not honored in 7 states. I’ll be avoiding those. |

Like everyone has said it's complicated because you're going to have to do some legwork to figure out the laws in each state (and sometimes municipalities) you're traveling through. You also have to be mindful of not only your company's policy but also those of the places you're loading and unloading at. The good news is 29 States now have Constitutional Carry and if you have a state issued permit reciprocity with other States can open up more places you're allowed to conceal carry. You have to make judgement call for everywhere else, weigh the risks vs rewards. FOPA covers you as long as you are following the transportation rules as far as storage but beware some States don't allow stops or only "reasonable" short stops in State under FOPA and some like New York, New Jersey shit all over the FOPA without repercussions. |

Strikes me as good reason for a revolver or <10 round “featureless” pistol. My travel gun is a Winchester Model 12 “Heavy Duck” which was brought down to 20”. It’s a takedown, so it transported easily. The tube is a natural six versus five shots. And the Heavy Duck variant can handle 3” shells. (Not that I want 3” shells, but ammo shortages only seem to be getting more common.) Plus being a pump, it avoids any AWB issues. |

You'll find you won't be "carrying" the gun much. The roads are bad enough without having an IWB putting pressure on your body. You shouldn't carry your wallet in you back pockets either. FL permit is good in a lot of states. Stay south of Maryland and east of the west coast and you'll be fine. Don't carry inside a weigh station unless you absolutely know the laws of that state and it's allowed. I carried a 1911 in a shoulder holster for several years. I have been in police cars receiving a ticket with it on and kept my mouth shut. I was very lucky once in 1980. I lived in Seattle and hauled military surplus back into BC from the east coast. I always left my pistol at home when I went across the border to unload. I also carried a Mossburg pistol grip 20" 12G everywhere I went. I forgot to take it out this time. The Canadian customs usually checked my paperwork and let me thru. For some reason this morning about 4:30 am , the customs agent decided to search my truck.I had a Freightliner conv. and as I watched him run his hands along between the mattress and the back of the sleeper , I had a heart attack because I remembered the Mossburg. I watched him run his hand back and forth over the gun but not picking it up. He stopped the search, stepped down out of the cab, stood 18" from my face and smiled, then he said; have a nice day, and walked away. I could hardly breath. |

I would never do it because of company policy but if I did I would just have to know where I can and can't go. I suppose I would have lots of places to hide something if I got diverted into enemy territory. Attached File |
