My daughter is in her second year of a dedicated sports photography program at a major Big 10 school. This year she was given a new Adobe access, and she uploaded the first 1200 pics of this past weekends game. This is a screenshot of the storage situation. It's insane. Gotta be wrong. But she says its accurate.  |

For me shooting compressed 46megapixel RAW, 35GB would be roughly 700ish photos. I always recommend shooting RAW because if you're off by even a half dozen stops you can usually salvage a photo. I DO NOT recommend uploading RAW files to adobe or anywhere else on the cloud for editing. I save them locally on an SSD, and after editing I back them up to a 2 cheap external hard drives. Only photos I process get put online. |

Apple wants to start charging me if my storage goes over 5 gb. 12 petabytes? That’s a heapaheapa storage. I’ve got 4,400 images in my Flickr, all at about 2500xwhatever resolution, that’s taking up about 12.5 gigabytes. |
ProTip: Never pick a fight with a tree planter. He swings a hoedad for 9 hours a day, carries 30-40 pounds of seedlings on his back, and has 12-14 friends just like him hiding out on the other side of the junk butt pile. They will fuck your shit up.

The math comes out to over 90 million 50 megapixel images. Everyone has their own storage, that's not collective. They are required to upload everything to lightroom. It's just a stupidly big number. I can't imagine she'll run out of space, lol. |
