What’s the good, bad and ugly? Looking for a 2020-24 S/GTS Manual. 911 prices have skyrocketed. We were looking at 991S’ but the prices are up around 15-20% in the last year. |

Had a Cayman R for quite a few years. Probably the best handling car I'll ever have. Great road car, but fantastic canyon carver. That car came alive when you pushed it in the twisties. I got 911 fever and swapped the Cayman for a Carrera T. The T is a lot bigger car. Amazingly, they still keep the weight in check (I think I'm at 3150 lbs). Consider that a new M3 weighs 3800 lbs!!!! The 911 seems to be more of a touring car these days. It handles a bit differently, but still amazing. You power out of curves with the 911, but dance in the curves with a Cayman if that makes sense. Cayman wins for handling alone, IMO. It's an adult go-kart. 911 is a great road car, and definitely has more of a presence. Having both would be ideal, but the Cayman really is a fantastic handling mid-engine car. I don't think the Cayman gets as much respect / street cred, but if you don't care about that, get the Cayman! |

GT4’s are as pricey as 991S’. Great machines though. Heck, even the 718 4.0’s are in 991S territory. Sucks to be a poor!

I didn't want to pay tge price of admission though. I ended up going in a different direction. I threw a GT3 suspension under the 996. I then sent it to Slakker Racing for 3.6>4.1 conversion. Dyno at 420hp and turned the 996 into a daily weapon. I still want a Cayman GT4 but it has certainly calmed me down. |
