| Like the title says, what are some good books about the Roman Empire? I'm looking for something that discusses their rise and fall. |

"SPQR" by Mary Beard is good. But it's less about the history of the entire time and more about a period. She had several excellent videos on youtube and really know her stuff. "The Storm Before The Storm" by Mike Duncan, the author of The History of Rome podcast covers the period of the final years of the Republic leading up the the Empire. |
