Available for preorder.

Toolhead $299
Passive tool $35
4 tool upgrade for Core One $499
8 tool upgrade for Core One $699

Was really hoping for 350C capability but their website only says "at least 300C".

I haven't seen any info about what kind of nozzle it uses yet.

The production unit is supposed to have a load cell for bed leveling but they have a pinda sensor at the show, which I take to mean that feature is not fully developed.

I'm on the fence about this one considering the lack of details.

I preordered. Their website says it's refundable until March so I'll see what the reviews have to say.

I'm so tempted to drop the $150 deposit.  Nothing to lose I guess since the deposit is fully refundable, but I wish I knew more before taking the leap.  Tariffs will be a consideration on the final price too unless they are including it like Prusa is now, but I don't see that indicated on their sluggish website.  I also wonder how much discount there actually is for being a founder.  And finally, I'm not sure what all is required to upgrade the Core One beyond the toolhead and 4 passive tools, but there's an extra $60 in there somewhere.

I tried setting up an account and although the new user registration screen takes my info, once it returns to the login screen it says my username doesn't exist

You might have to try a different browser to register. Some of them aren't showing the captcha.

Yeah I don't see a captcha in Edge.  Big red mark against Bondtech there IMHO - spend a minute making sure your website is up to par before opening a can of worms.

Well I tried Edge on Android instead of Windows and there's still no captcha, but there is something there that didn't show up on Windows - there's a note that leads to a post explaining tariffs and it says they do NOT include tariffs in their pricing.  @Blob did you see anything about expected shipping cost in your preorder or was that included in the total?

No, the preorder is just a reservation to buy one of the bundles when they launch.

Ah well it's a "mute" point now anyway - the website is showing -1 preorders available.

As soon as they announce the Core L version, I'll be dropping some money.

Don't even have a Core One L yet

I'm surprised they didn't already considering they're basically the same printer.

I watched part of the show from Bontech and they indicated that is the minimum temp
that they will support.  They are working on getting better results so with luck the temp
you want will be met by the time they ship.

Steve, the 3d print guy did hand over a maker's chip that he
used the Bontech setup on his Voron.   He got a lot of odd
looks from the guy who was presenting the intro for the Prusa.

Me, Yes I want one and I think I will go with a 4 head version.
Will it be for a Core One, Core One L, or Voron...not sure yet which hardware
I will want to attach it to.   I will make my choice once I see some real word results.

My primary use will be for spool roll over....along with other multi-color prints.

The kit I believe includes custom made "tops" for the the printer.  So I can see
going with the more common printer for bigger market first.

Quick update on the toolhead and a nice look inside.

Quick INDX Update - The Loadcell Sensor

Bondtech has confirmed that everything is going according to plan so far and they are still on schedule for a late Q1 release for the founder's edition.

Is it just me or so those nozzles have exceptionally long melt zones?

Also curious what "zero tuning needed" means as it says it "fully and automatically adjusts to every filament without sensors."

Does that mean flow, PA, etc? Promising zero tuning is both lofty and vague at the same time.

Max operating environment is 50C.

So not even ABS?

In fairness it says "at least" so I presume they are working to increase that before launch.

My guess is purge tuning, since each material has its own nozzle.

The integrated load cell will give "future" upgrade paths for more automation.

There is no purge tuning. Zero purge. Not low purge. Zero purge. So not sure that's it.

It doesn't have a servo so it's not any type of PA tuning so far as I can tell, but then that means manual calibration. Unless tuning and calibration are different in their minds. But it's a bit misleading. No appliance really needs "tuning" anymore in that case.

Looking forward to the reviews.

I was wondering how it will know each tool has the same Z offset. Seems like it would need to check each tool separately before beginning a print?

I'm sure they are all calibrated individually during initial setup. So for example tool 1 is the reference tool. Calibrate tool 2 and the machine knows it is XXmm longer or shorter than T1. T3 is XXmm longer shorter, etc. Same thing for XY offset. After those initial calibrations it shouldn't matter which tool is used to probe the bed; the machine can just apply the necessary offset for each tool used in the program. No different than a CNC machine.

I'm wondering what mechanism they are using to get a repeatable tool mounting position after each change. Three point ball bearing perhaps?

They use Lord Kelvin's Kinematic Coupling principles, so yeah, basically. Apparently they use balls on the tool changer instead of V grooves.  Not sure how that would work exactly.

Founder's edition pre-orders opened on Friday. Core One kits available in four-tool and eight-tool versions. They are ONLY being shipped with 0.4mm CHT nozzles with no option to choose other sizes. You can buy additional nozzles separately but there is no buying the core one kit without the pre-packaged 0.4 CHTs.

After multiple forum posts leading up to the launch stating that we would be able to choose nozzle sizes during ordering, they quietly removed that option and only listed the CHTs. I have zero use for eight 0.4mm CHTs. I need mostly 0.6mm standards, so to buy six extra nozzles to replace the ones I'm not going to use is another $200 on top of an already $800 upgrade. I emailed Bondtech about this directly and they advised me that "nozzles hold their value well and should be easy to sell on the secondary market." Yeah, because every single other person who buys the INDX system is already going to have eight of the same nozzles.

One of their reps in the discord server even admitted that they pulled the rug on us and that is wasn't cool (his words), and that the reason they are not changing is because all the parts are pre-packaged and to ship individual nozzles takes too long and costs too much. I am just dumbfounded why they would make this decision. Am I way off base here?

Anyway, I'm going to cancel my pre-order and get a refund. What an absolute clusterfuck. It's got me pissed off and now I'm pondering an H2D instead.

I don't want to say I told you so..but, I told you so. I said months ago mark my words, they will find a way to fuck this up because Josef is involved. Their bullshit bait and switch on the XL is what turned me away from them. And even though that was years ago I see the same shit happening with the Core One L. Brag about all this capability and yet the professional reviewers all say it was over promised and that there are issues that have existed since the original Core One launch that users still struggle with that aren't fixed with no firmware updates, etc. Truly sad as I WANTED to be wrong. I love my Bambu, no surprise to anyone, but I still WANT competition, and I want innovation. That drives the industry forward but this isn't helpful. I'm curious now what the H3C will look like. They said off the bat that their H2C was just a first stab to pioneer the idea and that it would be revisited and iterated in later models. I actually believe them as everything they promise, they actually deliver, and then some.

X1C came out. Customers wanted a larger build plate. They wanted heated chambers, and they wanted drying built into AMS. Boom, H2D released with AMS 2 Pro after they said hey, we are working on it. Customers said great, but I want higher temp drying. They said okay and released the HT. Then customers said but I want TPU compatibility and want drying while printing. They said okay we will solve that and release that capability by end of FH 2026. Boom, delivered, ahead of schedule for H2D at least. They haven't missed a single deadline that they self imposed to my knowledge, and Prusa, or any collab with them, have never met a single deadline to my knowledge.

It's hard to argue the track records. I was really hopeful here, so that sucks to hear. Maybe if they get enough cancellations they will at least backtrack. I'd rather they just not include ANY nozzles and offer a stupid coupon code for 10% off any combination of 4 or 8 nozzles or whatever and just deduct that cost from the kit cost.

I don't blame you for being pissed, adding 25% to the cost of a product due to failed commitment is a really shitty way to launch a product.  I can't imagine it's going to do them any favors with their overall customer base.  On top of that, it feels like a bullshit excuse to me.  Your telling me that for $800, it's going to cost you too much to package 6 small parts and place them in the larger box your going to send me?  That's probably less than $2 in materials and max 2 minutes of labor.  Are the other nozzle sizes available to purchase at the same time?  If not, it would have me suspicious that there is some technical problem, they don't want to admit.  Keep in mind, everything I know about this product, I learned in this thread.

Hopefully they get their shit together and deliver an awesome product, even though I'm not in the market for it....it looks like an awesome idea and should help drive more innovation in printers.

It's their response that pissed me off the most. Their reasoning is that the kits are pre-packaged with either four nozzles or eight nozzles because that is the fastest way to ship all the orders.  You can purchase additional nozzles but they are being shipped separately. So if you wanted 8 tools, it seems you could easily order the four tool kit and then buy four additional nozzles yeah? Yeah, except the eight tool kit comes with other stuff that you need like the filament sensors, docking stations, hardware and PTFE tubes.

After expressing my frustrations with them, the guy literally told me "I don't have to buy it" if I didn't like it. I mean what kind of company says that to a paying customer??

Then asking for them to extend a simple gesture of goodwill after pulling the rug and he says that it's not so simple and would cost a lot of time and money.

I mean I wasn't expecting this release to be without issue by any means, but to pull a fast one on everybody and then say tough shit you have to shell out another $200 to get what we promised you?? Holy fuck man.

In a way though I am kinda glad they made this decision easy for me because I was already on the fence about converting one of my printers to an untested and unproven system. I have two Core Ones that I use for my side business and having one of them set up differently and potentially unreliably didn't make me feel very comfortable.

I don't think anyone really expects a first gen product launch to go perfect, at least I don't.  I'd always expect dates to slip, cost to slightly change, even some technical teething issues.  The inability or unwillingness to package different nozzles with print heads, that you said you'd do, just screams amateur hour to me.  My day job is product engineering in a manufacturing facility, so I fully understand what it takes to engineer a product, manufacture it and ship it.  While packaging and shipping can certainly have issues, for the most part.....it's the easiest part.

Honestly, they probably have too many engineers and not enough core business people.  The engineers were to focused on the design / manufacturing to think about delivery.....and by the time they did, it was to late in the game.

Look on the bright side, everyone else can be their R&D people and help them work out the bugs.  By the time they get their ordering / delivery system unfucked, hopefully you'll take a delivery an awesome product and not a headache.

Welp you never asked me, I can't help if you don't ask!

This is just my opinion, and for what I find valuable/useful in a printer. So take what I say (and everyone else) with a grain of salt because we don't all use our printers in the same manner. Which is fair and normal.

In my opinion, the H2C is a half-baked idea. I can understand WHY they did what they did, but I don't think it was the cleanest execution. I personally believe the H2D is a much cleaner execution.  I can appreciate the Vortek system, but I think they either needed to make both sides Vortek, or they needed to make the left induction heated, at the very least. So they didn't fix the shared flaw (the ONLY complaint I have of the H2D in fact) in that the left and right nozzles need completely different calibration profiles...the pressure build up is different in each nozzle, so you need a PA calibration on the left side, and then again on the right side. Temps can also act differently between left and right, max flow rate is different, etc etc. So it doubles the calibration process.  You also have one side that heats up in 7 seconds, and one side that heats up in 20 seconds. It's just odd to me.  The reason I prefer the H2D is both nozzles are kept at temp (or very close to it) and there is a nozzle pad that prevents oozing. The nozzles are only cooled enough to allow reheating in the time it takes to swap the nozzles over, which ironically is also about 7 seconds.  This allows VERY rapid left/right switching on the H2D, with the swap and purge taking less than 10 seconds. It's over 40 seconds on the H2C from what I've read (I don't own one). Granted, that's still 2 minutes and 20 seconds faster than an X1C can do, but it's still a lot longer than the H2D. Then you have a rack that only works on the right nozzle, and now your spares between left and right are different as well, so your spares need duplicated as well. Then of course there is the cherry on top, at which they said it's their first attempt at toolhead changing and will be perfected later in future printers. I think they rushed it a bit and it could have been done without, at the very least, losing build volume, which having a different sized build plate is also a weird trade off.

If I did a lot of multi color prints, I'd have went with it anyway and accepted it for what it was, a first attempt that is still very innovative. However, I print almost exclusively 2 color or 1 color + support interface and for those situations, the H2D offers fewer compromises and complexity while improving speed a bit and improving build volume a touch as well.

Different strokes for different folks, but the H2D was the right call for me. Maybe the H2C is the right call for you.

Thanks for the reply, a lot of that was not covered in the reviews. That said I do quite a few multi-color prints so that swayed me, however I doubt I will ever save enough filament to justify the extra cost .

Am I understanding this correctly.   You want a refund because they are not shipping with your choice of nozzles?   Then the added insult was the tone of the email when you asked for different nozzles.

Not because it doesn’t work or is unreliable (both those claims will pan out later I suppose).

Is this what you are calling a cluster fuck?   Making sure I’m reading this correctly, as I’m about to buy a Core One+ or Core One L.

Yes. We were led believe from multiple forum posts and emails that we'd be able to choose the nozzle sizes at checkout. Then without saying a word to us, bondtech decided to only package the system with 0.4 CHT nozzles. I have zero use for eight identical nozzles and I don't even want the CHT versions at all because I print a lot of filled materials. Buying the nozzles I need separately would cost an additional $200-280 on top of the $800 system. I emailed and asked if they'd accommodate this request and they denied, and in the bondtech discord one of the reps was very dismissive of my (and others) irritation. He admitted in the discord that what they did was not cool and still told me if I didn't like it then I was free to not buy it. Ok then, I won't.

They made some other changes behind the scenes and didn't mention any of them until the official specs were released. They heavily implied that 340C nozzle temps were going to be a thing but are limiting it to 300C nozzle and 50C chamber. They said they are going to make an industrial version of INDX to be able to hit those higher temps, but again no mention of that until release day. There were some other small changes to the mounting design which didn't bother me, but again didn't say a word about any of it until launch.

As far as being unreliable, it is basically guaranteed there will be teething issues at launch like all other prusa products. Once the system is fully fleshed out it should be the best multi material solution on the market.

Wait so did they pull the rug on temps too? Leaving it at 300 and 50 for chamber?

Kinda. The official statement prior to release was "at least 300C and at least 50C" so they technically didn't pull the rug on that, but there were various forum posts leading up to this point stating they have been running the system successfully at 340 nozzle and implied that it would be capable. Then again without any announcements to the community they released it at 300/50 and said in the discord that they would be working on an industrial version capable of higher temps.

I was optimistic for 340 nozzle to give me some more headroom with nylons, but with the lower INDX nozzle temp ceiling and the a-la-cart tools I decided to cancel and equip the HT nozzles instead.

Do these forums posts carry the same weight as official release statements?

Edit.   Personally, I am looking forward to the INDX system on Prusa.   Just for me, I am not willing to be an early adopter.    I do not have the expertise to navigate novel issues that are certain to arise.

The OEM Prusa HT nozzles you mean?

So what's your plan for MM? Going to go MMU3? The support interface is so extremely handy.

Well that's the thing. They never released any formal statements to confirm anything. People on the forums will email them asking questions and post the responses, or we hear things that are mentioned casually in the discord channel. Then one day the pre-orders are opened and we find the webpage has been silently updated from "at least 300C" to "300C." Yeah I get it, it's a preorder for an unfinished product. But they are handling it very poorly and the fact that they won't budge on the nozzle shipment is baffling to me.

Yes but I'll probably see what the firmware release is like and then put together my own heat block/nozzle/thermistor. Depends what nozzle they bundle with it.

Undecided on MMU. I'm not in love with the stock buffer system.

These issues plus whatever is happening politically with 3D printers, is really pushing me to a Voron.

Do it.

Use AI to help get your config file working properly, makes it a snap.

INDX can be implemented in a Voron, it just won't be a plug and play solution like with the Core Ones. Give it some time and I guarantee the community will come out with a guide.

There's a lot of really slick MMU buffer systems on Printables. I like the ones with the buffer built into spool holder. I know a lot of people bag on the MMU3, but I'm one of the weirdos that likes it.

INDX on a V0.2? That's verrrry cool!! I could see putting INDX on a 300mm Trident.

One thing I will say on the MMU3, is due to its "dumb" design with essentially zero sensors upstream of the MMU PINDA, you can create your own buffer solve. I had a decent setup with mine in which I used a modified cassette but I ended up switching to AMS before I perfected it. I think there is promise there though all things considered. There were some clever auto spool rewinders last I had looked into it with a drag brake, so that it would slip as it pulled filament out from the spools but at any point if you released the tension it would rewind a certain amount to take up the slack.

I’m ready to put the cash down for a Core One L.   I’ve been using AI to help me pick out a Voron kit that’ll be comparable or better than the Prusa.

Besides AI or YouTube where can I find detailed information on building it.

I’ve got the money, got the space and I can follow directions.   I am worried about software, but if I can leverage AI with config files.   That tips the balance.

MMU3 was the first version that was actually workable (I owned all 3).

It was still never as reliable as AMS, so when you had some very intensive prints, youd almost certainly have countless interventions.

Best I ever got, and I was called a liar getting it this high, was 99% reliability. Only one intervention in 100, excluding spool issues that were not the fault if the system.

On a print with 1600 swaps, that's still 16 interventions, give or take.

I did a 1600 change print on the X1C and had zero interventions outside one miswound spool which wasn't even related to the AMS at all and would have occurred even if it were a single color print.

Qhile I hate some of the silly limitations of the AMS ecosystem, its hard to fault it with reliability and convenience which it has proven over years. And now that they even dry while printing, it's just the cherry on top. And up to 24 spool capacity is insane, vs MMU3 is 5 and INDX is 8. But there is still a ton of room for improvement.

I just don't see how you make a bulky system like that work with a heated chamber, even actively heated I think that's going to cause issues. Your enclosure size easily doubles.

If they are coming from a company rep.....I'd say most people would say yes.  To me the "where" of a company providing information makes very little difference, on their website / email / forums / social media...etc...they are choosing to put that information out into public, it's 100% on them to ensure it's accurate.  At minimum, companies should be acting like the answer is yes.

I'm specifically talked about marketing type information, we're going to sell X and it's going to be able to do X,Y,Z...etc.  A company rep on a forum talking about technical things, like support, I can look past making good faith mistakes with information.
