I feel like I've let this thread die. So here's some pics from last Sunday's trail ride (2/16/2025) near Cassville, MO We met at a gas station and picked up a couple more vehicles at the trail head:  Start of the trail (my Jeep):   Joe in his Gladiator on 42" Tires w/ chopped bed:  He took the hard side of this climb and had to bump it up there.  I've tried that side in the past and failed. I took the easier right hand side of the climb.  Wes in his Zuki coming down the trail at the start.  Wes eventually took over the lead and lead us down to the river.   We were probably a good 5 hours into the trail ride at that point. Looking at the map on my phone I found a river crossing that would put us right near the highway. I took over the lead. That water crossing did a great job at cleaning off our tires.

| I just replaced my clapped out Zone lift with a Metalcloak 3.5” short arm lift. I have 1.25” body lift from when I did my tummy tuck. Running the Genright front and rear fenders. Was gonna run 35’s but I have a set of 37”s that I picked up from a friend for my wife’s Jk. Funny thing his like his I just picked up a set of JK 17” Moab rims and spacers. Just waiting for my driveshafts to get here from Adam’s this week. |

I picked up a set of 4 barely used 37x12.5R17 Yokohama Geolandar G003 MT's off a buddy for a $1000. They are currently in my shed and I'm debating going with a 3.5" Metal Cloak Game Changer lift. I could stuff em on my JK as is with my cheap 2.5" lift but I'd need to trim the rock rails (again) and hammer out the pinch weld. Or try to sell em to a Gladiator owner. I'm having 2nd thoughts and might just stick with my 35's. |

I picked up a half worn set of 4 37x12x17 Mickey Thompson off a guy in our group for $350 JK has a 3 1/2 inch AEV lift but I need something for my LJ since the 33s look like training wheels. I will say the metal cloak stuff is nice, but their instructions are horrible compared to a company like AEV. AEV instructions included everything down to torque specs and replacement bolt sizes if needed. Metal cloak does not even publish a torque spec on their site. They simply say it varies based on fastener. |

Well, just finished up installing the metalcloak 3.5 inch lift on my LJ. Replaced a crappy zone off-road lift kit that I installed 10+ years ago. Has GenRight front fenders and also a 1.25” body lift to facilitate the tummy tuck that I did. I think ultimately I’m going to run 35s but had these 37 sitting around waiting to put on the wife’s JKU. Adam’s drive lines came in yesterday, so threw them in this morning and took it outside to flex a little bit. Definitely I’m going to have to install more bump. Stop upfront. Thanks for letting me live vicariously. A lot of the backroads here are still snowy/muddy. Anything above 6000' is going to need time to dry out. My brother and I went over the Bridger Mountains last April and the experience was... tense. Mud was up to 10" deep on the road crown. Luckily, there was a saloon at our destination.

Flying doesn't bother me but for some reason those mountain shelf roads out your way scare me. I'm ok if stare straight ahead as most of them are just gravel roads. However usually it's so damn beautiful out there I have to look around and then my irrational fear of heights kicks in... I visited Ouray, CO when I 1st got my Jeep. Engineer Pass was enough for me.

Group pics from yesterday's Mark Twain Mafia Weekday Vacationing, Retired, Self/Unemployed, Playing Hooky from Work / School Trail Ride. Drone shot. The people were edited out but the doggies remained.    The Bronco Rapter Owner had to leave early. Of the remaining 4 of us, 3 of us got stuck. The silver LJU and I got stuck twice. These are all 20 second or less video shorts. Not paying attention I found a hole to get stuck in.  Found a hole. 1st attempt at a ledge climb.  Shenanigans 1st Attempt Success. A freind is coming over from kalifornia next week and wants to ride ATVs. I thought of a route but didn't know how many miles and if the ATVs had enough gas so I drove it today in the pickup to check the milage, 41 miles right from my driveway all on dirt roads and over 2 passes each over 8000'.Attached File Attached File Attached File |

My granddaughter came for a visit and wanted to ride the ATV's. We live on a dead end dirt road so we road up to the end. There was a fire up there this summer, they dropped fire retardant on it and it just kind of died at a ridge top around 9000 feet.Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

This was Cemetery Road off Whitefish Point heading out to see another light house.  |
