I have a small collection of old battery powered watches that I don't use anymore. Do the batteries in watches that have gone dead start corroding like regular batteries?

Yes, they can leak and disrupt the movement. If they do not mess up the circuitry they can generally be cleaned up and serviced.

If the batteries are lithium you should be GTG but why chance it? Remove them
