| I've got a 2012 Dodge Durango SXT with the V6. Overall it has been a pretty good vehicle. I bought it brand new for the wife, and both my son and daughter have used it as a daily driver. It now has 248k miles on it. I got a call from my daughter this evening and she said when she put it in drive it actually went in reverse. She put it back into park, shut off the vehicle, started it back up, and it worked normally. Any ideas on what is happening here? |

Sounds like stretched/slack shifter cable & worn bushings, Could be that and iirc they got a transmission sensor that tells it what gear it should be in. Hook it up to code reader, should give code(s) if sensor is issue. Eta: first thing is check fluid level, make sure it's not low. |

First thing I would check is the shifter and cable for slack or worn parts. Hop underneath it and have someone shift through the gears. |
