Do any of the automatic litter boxes eliminate the dust? I have a smaller 3 bedroom house. My wife is going to convert one of the bedrooms into an office/craft room. This is the bedroom that the litter box is currently in. I would like to use the other bedroom for the occasional guest visit, but need to move the litter box in there. Open to any suggestions or experiences that you want to share. TIA arfcom |

My mom had her cat in her assisted living apartment. The staff charged big money if they were tasked with maintaining the litter and feeding. We got this automatic litter box which I serviced once a week when I visited. Service meant emptying the turds out of the box that the automatic rake would sift out. Urine was absorbed in the media. I found that the media refills needed to be changed about every two weeks. The refills are pretty expensive. When mom died, we just dumpstered the box. Now that I have kitties, I wish I'd kept it and at least tried using it with normal clumping litter. |

I also had the Cat Genie. Do not recommend that one. It was awful. LR4 or 5 is what you want OP. We use Dr Elsey's litter. It's marketed as being something like 99.9% dust free and it's generally pretty good. |
