If you have a Atomic aquatics z2 first stage, would you post a picture of it mounted to a tank (yoke) attached. My octopus hose interferes with tank knob. Thanks |

I don't have one, but.... That's the non-swivel turret correct? I am assuming the hose interferes slightly with your tank on-off valve. Do you have the 1st stage mounted up or down? I have some regs that are close, but I can still manipulate. You have a pic of yours setup? |

Attached File In this position one hose port is blocked by the tank valve stem and the bottom hose port is blocked by the tank. The yellow octopus hose rubs the tank valve knob. Atomic aquatics says this is the correct position?????? That makes no sense. Thanks |

That's what I pictured in my head. This is correct, a disadvantage of a mk10 style 1st stage. A swiveled turret would help in this application. The 'blocked' ports would be mostly available if used on doubles etc. You could try mounting it 'up', the 5th port pointing up. That would mean reversing hose configuration. Depending on how high or low you wear the tank, you may hate or like it. I am not knocking the reg, but I prefer a traditional straight 1st stage with lots of ports. Plenty of routing options. Disadvantage of this is the OAL, which is looong. |

Thanks, I just returned the regulator and bought the swivel model, problem solved. Now , went diving this week with a new hood a Henderson with a vent, the vent never worked. Hood filled with air, many times. I'm going to get one a size smaller, tighter. But the vent didn't work? What's up with that? Never had air in hood before. Any ideas on a 5mm hood that is the best. Oh yea, check out Mermet Springs in Illinois, the bests folks ever. This is a full diving location. Take care. Bill |
