Spotted a couple in my yard a day ago and would like to encourage them to stay around for a while. Any suggestions or links you can point me towards would be appreciated! Sorry, thought I was posting in GD. |

Make at home Cheap and easy to make at home, OP! Make sure you change it out to keep it from going rancid. You may or may not develop an ant problem near the feeder… |

I'm not suggesting this...but years ago there was a post by a member who, wearing no clothes, stepped out onto his deck only to have an aggressive Humming Bird mistake his most private part for a bud and go in for a feed. Hilarity ensued. I do not suggest this. Can't find a link.... |

Start small, 1 to 4 mix Suger / water, use a colored glass feeder if you can. Put it near existing flowers if you have any. Shaded area is best! We have the hummingbirds up here year round. I change solution no longer than 2 weeks out No need to color the water, they really don't care. In the winter, I keep spares for changing out if I forget to take them in or they freeze during the day. They seem to have a lot of fun buzzing me whilst changing feeders out |

This is our territory and we got this business under control!" So here I am, peeing off the porch like a boss. Still in a Zen-like state, light rain, cool breeze, then... VVVRRRRRRIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!! I see a blurry streak flash out of the Magnolia tree like some miniature version of the starship Enterprise and drop out of warp about 2mm from the very tip of my penis. A hummingbird materialized there in the zone which, for a man, can only be described as "the ultimate invasion of one's personal space". It hovered there, perfectly suspended in space right there at the tip of my junk and... Took a sip. It then hovered up to eye level with me, looked me square in the face, and warped-out into oblivion. |

I cup sugar to four cups water. Boil the water, mix, then let cool. We keep at least four feeders out all summer. Depending on location, these are probably just passing through this time of year. |
