I am curious about regressive hypnosis. Anyone have any personal experience? Witnessed a session or had it done to you?

I saw something as a child that I have wondered about for 50 years. The trouble- as little about the topic I understand- is false memories are possible in regressive hypnosis. I guess I want to know if it was a genuine event or if I was simply having a very lucid dream.

I am dubious as I remember the technique being abused and it causing a good number of false abuse accusations back in the 90s.

It is a hit and miss kind of thing.   If you tell them what you're worried about, they'll either say it was/wasn't that depending on honesty.

Better for them to target that age range and feelings of lost time and confusion and let them see what they find, you need to help them along by responding to questions, but don't explain what you are afraid of it being or what you want to have happened, if that makes sense.

Lots of shrinks are great cold readers to drop an obvious (to them) personal secret (to you) bomb, then sit and wait until the patient dumps everything they've been hiding  ( A lot like a puhleese interview, except if you want help, help them help you.).

I've been tried it right after college and results were mixed, mostly due to greatest fears I never knew I had were not just imagination worry.

A former co-worker was having big trouble with a  often re-occurring nightmare in which he was surrounded by fire and explosions, and experiencing terror.

Another co-worker was an experienced hypnotist (LE), and his talent was sometimes sought out by other agencies to regress witnesses for statement details and/or new/overlooked information.
He was reportedly quite good.

1st co-worker requests hypnotist co-worker “put him under”, with purpose to decipher the re-occurring nightmare, and hopefully end it.

During the hypnosis session 1st co-worker, while hypnotized, relates that the fires and explosions are caused by large silver planes dropping bombs.
Literally everything is burning, and 1st co-worker tells hypnotist he is frantically searching for his wife and children.

Hypnotist asks: “What else do you see”?

1st co-worker:  “I’m Japanese”.

Perhaps this re-occurring nightmare was final memory of a past life?

I'd certainly lean in this direction. There is/ was a supposedly well researched story about a youngster who had memories of flying in the pacific theater during WW2. He was able to talk about the airplanes and ultimately the fellows he flew with, even recognizing members of his old unit at reunions. It's been long enough, I don't remember the sources/ citations for this story but it goes on like the memories didn't get erased.  He flew for the Navy in the PTO, that's all I remember.

It's fascinating stuff. I lean towards reincarnation myself but don't have any personal memories.

I have a memory of me and my parents being held in a "cave" by a "witch".  I don't remember seeing the witch, only that my child brain said it was a witch.  I do clearly remember my mom and dad laid out naked, on examing tables.  My memory is that they were face down, rather than face up.

I also have some other bizarre childhood memories.  The two I can think of right now is of pirates and possibly being forced to walk the plank and sitting on a slight rise with a bunch of women and other children, watching the crucifiction.  Our local hospital has a statue of Jesus in the lobby and I was FASCINATED by it, as a kid.  For years, I thought that was a real memory of going for a reenactment.  I mentioned it to my parents and they said no such event ever happened and when I was old enough to drive, I drove to where I remember it having occurred, which was East of town, and there is no place remotely resembling that memory.

That sounds similar to Dorothy Eady except she thought she was Egyptian and proved it beyond a doubt by showing where some features were which the archeologists never found.  There were dozens of them since she had the buildings memorized as she wasn't allowed to leave the compound/castle/house spot.

The fact there are a handful of these kind of knocks down anything people can say, especially when they prove beyond a reasonable doubt when they had no way of knowing what they knew.  Similar to "remembering" information that you have no way of knowing other than it seeping through the matrix or something.

Just like UFOs, if you get down to even a single person, that disproves all the theories on life.   That's how science works.  A whole branch of science like brane or string theory needs to re-write because a single potential conflict was found.  In reality, hypothesis about experimenter are great until one counter case nullifies that.   We've seen it live with capacitor construction and battery life in the electronics world.   things have been forced to move at such  a frenzied pace they cannot test something for 100,000 hours since their oldest production quantity for testing is only 4000 hours old.  Glitches will get through, and the single point of failure of theories are where we see the fires.

Strangely, when it comes to anthropology and archeology (x1 million for the latter), that practice of conflict death isn't even acknowledged.  I'm starting to think that there was information in the Pyramids to jump start our life, Hitler was big into it after seeing some of the things taken from Africa (locations unknown or I don't remember, not sure which).   So they know that the Pyramids were something like an information storage vault and they know who built them and all that, but it's "classified" for similar reasons as UAP and all the other strangeness we're being told about that has been taken with cell phone video which for some reason is classified.   A phone video of an object 40 ft large walking around it showing it in detail.   When the higher ups found out about it, they wiped his phone. (Dylan Borland)  He apparently got copies prior to that point, I haven't gotten far into his whole story yet.

Anyway, yeah, strange stuff found in it sometimes. Too many things that people shouldn't be fretting about are being found, like the"I'm Japanese" in the post above.  Yet, science won't acknowledge something else unknown "out there".

That is an incredible story.

I do wonder if the media we ingest influences past life stories. Most all I’ve heard are around significant historical events or times.

Never heard one about living in Göbeklitepe until after it was discovered, or similar.  Yet you hear of ancient Egypt and Atlantis.

No one fesses up that they lived before the Flood and are the reason for 3 of the 10 commandments.

AJ on The Why Files i think talks about future life memmories?

And lead a life of woe, but not forsake
His rugged path; nor dare he view alone
His future doom which is but to awake.” - John Keats

I guess I would like to know if what I believe I experienced as a kid aged 6 was:
A. Real or a vivid dream
B. Clarity about some details.

In 1976 we lived in a ranch style house in East Tennessee. My family consisted of my mom and dad, my older brother (3.5 years older), me and two cats. My parents did not allow us to watch TV (it only got dragged out of a closet for space missions, the Olympics, etc.). I had limited TV and movie exposure to say the least. I did, however, have an active imagination.

My brother and I had separate bedrooms, and mine was essentially in the middle of the house facing a very narrow front yard with a narrow street connecting houses down the street from ours. There were no other houses visible from my bedroom, only woods and scrub. We lived near Warrior Path State Park in Colonial Heights (near Kingsport).

One night I woke up and walked to the two adjacent windows in the front of the room. I can recall the feeling of the shag carpet on my feet and when I glanced out the window on the left there was what I described later to my parents the next morning a very thin gaunt drawn out little man hovering over the front yard near the mailbox. To my memory he didn’t look like the grey aliens we are now culturally aware of as a “typical” alien. It was more close to a goblin or scary elf- it was very thin, with an elongated face and long skinny arms with disturbingly long fingers.

He noticed I had noticed him and then- I know this is ridiculous sounding- we had a non verbal conversation of sorts. He was ominous sounding in my head, yet curious- or maybe bemused would be a better term. I found what he said funny. I don’t remember particulars about what we conversed about, but I realize I had at one point started in front of the left window but at some point I was standing in front of the right hand window- maybe a space of five feet.

I do recall when I noticed the shift in my location my fear and caution started to increase. He asked- and I sense he knew the answer I would give as if it was a test of sorts- if he could come in. I paused, looked away towards my parents room and told him my parents wouldn’t like it. He was amused by that- it was clear to me that it was as if a cat asked a mouse if the mouse would like to have a head start. Next he told me to be a good boy and that I would see him again. Next I recall I felt the carpet on my feet again and went back to bed.

My parents were not amused the next morning. Even my brother didn’t make fun of me about it. I think frankly I scared them. 40 years later while visiting my aunt who still lived in the area in Limestone she asked if it was true- her words- that I had seen a demon when I was a little kid. She brought it up out of the blue and I my parents must have told her about it I suppose.

If I got regressive hypnosis I would want to obviously know if it was a dream, and clarity about one point it made. I don’t clearly recall if it said I (me) would see it again or if it meant it would see me again. I haven’t seen anything else like it since, but it was, well, a strange thing to have stuck with me all these years.

I did have a dream when I was around ten years old that I wonder about sometimes. I woke up in the morning after it had gotten mostly light and no one else was awake.  I got out of bed and walked down the hallway on the way to the living room. As I walked past the laundry room I looked in through the doorway and a tall brown praying mantis was (standing on two legs) looking at the washer and dryer. It turned it's head and looked directly at me. I think it extended it's arm toward me. I then woke up on the couch in the living room. It seemed to be about the same time of early morning as it was in what I think was a dream. Same light level and outside conditions. This was in the late 70s and I hadn't ever heard of mantis aliens yet so it does make me wonder.

Another thing that makes me wonder is my earliest childhood fear of being trapped underwater. It first showed up in pre-school. I flushed the noisy institutional style toilet in the small restroom and felt absolute terror. The loud sound of rushing water in an enclosed space was unbearable to me. All these years later and I'm still very uncomfortable with noisy toilets or water in enclosed spaces. No other fear of water and I loved my years of working on and in the water. Maybe that early event in the bathroom is all it is and has caused the lingering feelings.

Maybe hypnosis could help me sort out both of these things.

I'm going to speculate, but hey, it's a concern.
One would check to see if revelations under hypnosis were admissible as testimony. It probably varies from state to state and might amount to a "make your own case".  INOW a 'confession' might not be valid but information that points to evidence might lead to charges.

Was Patton right?

I've never considered it from a bad dream / nightmare scenario.

Can really only attest to one recurring nightmare I've had, not sure if you count it as recurring if it's the same dream happening a dozen times over a period of 25-30 years (I'm 43).

When I was 5 I was pestered by the 'earthquake monsters'. We lived 2 miles from the San Andreas fault and in the early 50's we had a large quake. Shortly after that the critters started showing up. I couldn't wake my parents or my brother or our dog. What was strange about this is that they were trying really hard to make me laugh and be at ease with them, as if we knew each other and were close friends. Unfortunately my tiny mind wouldn't have anything to do with them, so they gave up trying to be buddy's and just took me. What they did to me I have absolutely no memory of. My parents were at their wits ends because after they left I would wake them up and keep them up the rest of the night. In desperation they moved me to my Grandparent's house, but they found me there almost immediately so I didn't get to stay long. After a year they only showed up once a year or so. My last memory of them was when I was 12 and hanging out by our barn when an early F-104 Starfighter with bright red wing tanks cruised by at around 30 miles an hour and at 50 feet above the ground. The pilot and I locked eyes for what seemed to be a full minute, but I can't remember what he told me. I was in my 50's when I saw a picture of an earthquake monster. Not a grey alien, but a praying mantis. I am 75 years old now and hypnosis would be interesting but I don't think my body can take the pure terror I experienced then, so I think I will pass.

I had a missing time event from my childhood.  I think it may have been a Sasquatch encounter but I remember it as a bear encounter.  I remember the point of panic and turning to run, then missing time right after it.  It has always bothered me, but it might be better to not know.

I also had a reoccurring dream about Sasquatch in my childhood were I was frozen in terror, couldn’t run, couldn’t scream.  I think it is related but will probably never know for sure.  I am good with that though.

In the film Patton: In a scene reflecting on the Battle of the Bulge, the character of Patton (played by George C. Scott) says, "I had a dream last night. In my dream it came to me...that right now the whole Nazi Reich is mine for [the taking]"

That does seem to fit with the "Downloads" various people get from "the source" which hands out information they are looking for.  Some ask for it and rece, some receive without asking, and some receive and don't even know it.  Gary Nolan is an example of targeting desired information/solution and receiving it.  Elon Musk has made some statements about things that seems he has a similar connection for great leaps forward, redefining rocketry and desirable Battery electric cars.

That dream is Hollywood make believe. Patton kept a diary, and he never wrote anything about that dream. They had intel about German troops building up and prepared contingency plans, that's what allowed him to act like he knew what was coming.

Patton did write about his dreams, and even issued orders in the middle of the night based on them, the Battle of the Bulge just wasn't one of them.

I'm pretty sure he got some higher level intel and a couple new Enigma Wheels after battle of the bulge.  It was a couple weeks after that they knew the location of his nest and what agreement was made with Russia for who would get to take which bits.  IIRC, Right after the bulge is when they started divvying up the world with the nations axis had links with or had.

Still, around Enoch time can see some dreams coming as an ultra-vivid message and stuck with them repetitively it was assumed they were being given a vision by God.  With Jesus and many other Jews in the Old Testament mentioning or quoting Enoch, he didn't seem too far off.  I'm not sure if the reptitive dream or during the day "Whoa1" moments account for more of the prophesies, but I'm guessing it's more than on one, bu not as common as we all wish it is/can be.

So , the prophetic vision disclaimer added, , toss in the "God works in mysterious ways, through bewildered people".
