I stumbled on DCC while looking for a new series after reading the Bobiverse series (really good fyi). In the 6 or 8 months since I discovered DCC I've listened to the whole series except #6 4 or 5 times now. The narration is 2nd to none. The character development is astonishing for the genre. Unfortunately, this was my intro to LitRPG, and the rest simply don't stack up. |

I am on the 4th book now and am dreading getting to the 6th having to wait for the 7th. if he continues on the same path, of 2 levels of the dungeon per book, there need to be another 5 books I think to wrap stuff up. as for none of them stacking up, I think he who fights with monsters is on par. both dcc and hwfwm suffer from some plot armor issues, but otherwise are quite good. |
| This site turned me on to Princess Donut and Dungeon Crawler Carl. I genuinely enjoyed the entire series and was disappointed when I finally got to the 'wait for the next book' part after a second reading. There is a fantastic mix of sass and storytelling that really worked for my first LitRPG series. Maybe if the Borant had not screwed everything up and lost control of the show we would already have a completed series... |

DCC was the first LITRPG series I read, and I've been chasing that high ever since. I've never LOL'ed that much at a book I've listened to. I did listen to the SoundBooth Theater Immersion Tunnel of Book 1, and can't wait until they do the rest of the series. Universal Sudios just bought it as well, with Seth MacFarlane attached to the project. I've read the whole series over the last couple of months. Really annoyed at how often I end up waiting for books in a series  I like it a lot though. It's helped get me out of my funk and start writing again. |
