| I tried asking on a Mac forum but didn't get anything helpful. After the latest update to IOS on my iPhone (15+) when I have my phone plugged into my truck's USB Siri can no longer play my music nor does it know my home address. These are things it has been doing for years. But I can still manually play music and there's a button on maps to push for directions to my home. I've tried rebooting the phone. I deleted the bluetooth connection since that has been of limited use for years. Don't know much about how it works so not sure where to even start. Suggestions? I would call Apple but they weren't of much help regarding CarPlay the last time I called them. Ford support basically said that was Apple stuff and they don't deal with it. |
| Still no takers? Ok, last post. I've been on Google, Perplexity, Mac Forums, and the Apple Support website with no luck. Chatted with Apple Support and that was pointless. The issue is only when I try to use Siri with CarPlay. It's not the bluetooth connection since I've eliminated that and used only through USB connection. It's not the USB chord itself since it works fine otherwise. All software is up to date. Guess it's Gremlins. Or maybe it needs an exorcism. Anyway. I'm out. |

IF: Your contacts are on n your phone and Apple Music otherwise plays test to see if CarPlay works by pressing the buttons on screen for these things. If it works then test: Does Siri work for other things? Can you ask general questions (what time is it?) if this and the above work then Reset car play in the settings if that does not work, reset all settings if that does not work, regardless of what Ford says, it's a ford issue. |
Will not shelter in place

I contacted Ford and they said it was a CarPlay issue and they don't know anything about it. I contacted Apple and told that it was due to a change in security so if I want to use maps, play music, etc, I had to connect via a USB cable. I've tried using the little dongles you plug into the USB port of the vehicle. They do allow you to use maps, music, and other apps but they have proven unreliable. Just bought a new one a few months ago and it's already intermittently losing connection or just not turning on at all. |
