I didn't know this, but my camp apparently has its own prayer bead tradition: Attached File You start with the cross, then go up to the invitatory bead, and then start with the first of the four cruciform beads (they form a cross). The first cruciform bead here is at the bottom of the Y. Then you have seven beads between each cruciform bead: Attached File You can apply any prayer rule you want to it. Right now I'm doing:
At first I figured this would be really dull and repetitive. But I have found it most useful for re-centering the mind when it starts to wonder off into areas it shouldn't be. |

That's what I like about The Holy Rosary or The Divine Mercy Chaplet. They center me and help me to focus my prayer to God. I do both daily. The Orthodox also have a prayer bead system with The Jesus Prayer, from my understanding. Thanks for sharing! |
