I currently have a 2015 F350 crew cab dually with the 6.7 PSD. We usually keep our vehicles for a long time and this rig has a LOT of life left but we are planning on moving next year and are down sizing. Part of the down sizing is getting rid of our 5th wheel which is the only reason for me to have a dually. I have a love hate relationship with the dually. Its a very nice truck but if you dont need a dually they ride like crap, can be a pain to park and you cant rotate your tires without paying to have them broken down and remounted...not to mention you have to buy 6 of the damn things. I work from home so the truck only has about 62k on it which is crazy low for an 11 year old diesel. If we aren't doing something where we need the truck we take the wifes vehicle. Im really leaning toward an F250 or even a SRW F350 gasser. Likely the 6.2 since its dead reliable and much more common that the godzilla in the olderish trucks. I had an F150 before and loved it but the payload on most of them is borderline useless if you need to haul much. The 3.5EB was fantastic towing we were just constantly trying not to (significantly) go over payload with camper and gear and kids/dogs etc. The reality is I likely won't ever really need the extra payload and an F150 would def get better mileage but I hate the stupid 5.5' bed and I've learned its always better to have more truck than you need...just maybe not a dually with 5500lb payload more. So in the event that we wind up with another (smaller) camper or bigger boat than we planned I dont want to have to go truck shopping all over again. If I do start looking at F150s Ill be looking for a "long" bed and for some reason those are much harder to find. No idea why the vast majority are those goofy 5.5' beds. On the F250 if I find a nice clean low mileage one in the same gen as my current truck (found one today with 28k miles) I could even swap over some of my expensive upgrades from the dually and save $1000s on making the truck how I want it. On the other hand a newer gen would be nice too. They don't have any super significant improvements I'm aware of other the newer Sync system and maybe on the recent couple years have the 7.3 gasser. Likely I wont be buying one that new anyway. I'd actually like to find something that I can get into for even money. Just to make things even muddier I have also considered just getting the old farm beater 96 F150 (5spd, I6) back to road worthy and just running that for a while vs having a going to town rig. Sorry for the ramble. TLDR: I'll be getting rid of my F350 dually soon and cant decide if an F250 makes sense or I should just get a F150. |

I have the 2015 F350, King Ranch, SRW 6.7 deleted with only 85k on the clock. I am driving it until the Ohio salt rots it to hell. I love that truck. |

I tow our camper and horse trailers with a 4x4 F250 and V10 engine. Mileage sucks, but since it's only a dedicated tow vehicle that's not really an issue. I can't imagine the thing as a daily driver. That said, it's still cheaper and easier to work on than a diesel. I've been thinking about a lighter truck such as an F150 for general running around, but the choices are slim unless you want four doors and the short bed. Anything else seems to be almost impossible to find. |

I bought a new F250 in 2018. It has the 6.2, with 62,000 miles on it. It has been a great truck and a nice upgrade from the previous generation. Hoping to keep it for 4 more years and buy the next generation when they are released. Attached File |
