Two reasons. 1. gets rid of the gas smell in the cab if the tank has a leak or if the rubber gasket is cracked/rotting. 2. If you get into an accident gas can't end up soaking everything, or everyone, in the cab Blazer tanks are almost drop in. A 67 Camaro tank will fit under the bed and if you get a flip down license plate holder you have a stealth tank. The OEM fuel pump on the block will have no problem pulling from it. The biggest problem is the gas gauge is a different Ohm resistance from the OEM gauge. Have you installed a front sway bar on there? Direct bolt on from the square body trucks. Makes a huge difference. Add a brake booster and you're virtually up to date. |

I love my F150 KR. I hate to derail the OP, Do you have anybody in Texas you recommend for this work? I am pretty sure I have one of these in my Expi and want to keep it a good while longer. I am running up to around 150,000K so I might be getting close. BTW, that S10 is sharp looking. |

The only guy I know who is an expert here and super reasonable is FordTechMakuLoco https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQVKnd2r-ww I'm going to tackle mine myself. Haven't done it yet. What year is your Expo? If you have a 2V you don't have to do squat. It's the 3V engines that have the issues with timing chain tensioners leaking, resulting in worn phasers, poor lubrication to the head/cam, broken chain guides, etc. |
